The Marlin 1891 (predecessor to the 39A) had a side loading gate. But it was discontinued in 1897 for reliability reasons. Now if you are able to find one that would be something!
That Uberti 66/22 doesn t have a loading gate, the pic wolverine uses is that of a regular uberti 66.I have had one of the Uberti 22 66s and they are a real nice gun but are also very heavy in the sporting rifle version and the shell extractor is the weak point on them as they tend to break after a while in the rimfire versionI found something that made me smile and heart stop at the same time
