I mean this honestly and respectfully; there is utterly no point. I can google statistically meaningless information that agrees with my view, and a suddenly I’m no different than the people who say “It’s cold outside how about that climate change?” One point on one date means nothing, and one point over two limited year stretches is no better for global trends. It’s like pulling the days’ sales at the local 7-11 and looking for trends on the global economy. Dozens, hundreds, thousands of points and beyond that grow into millions of recordings suddenly do allow for trends.
So do atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gasses. So does the earlier and earlier recession of pack ice, which happens to be occurring in both hemispheres, or rates of glacial recession in both hemispheres, presuming you’ve seen it too. Every, single big data set on all of these shows drastic change, driven by the and in correlation with compositions of carbon isotopes from fossil fuels. If you want to see real data start using databases like the NOAAs and looking globally. You’re never going to find anything looking at singular points, you’ll be looking through a microscope in search of the elephant in the room.
Climate change is very real but it’s more convenient to feel we know better and it’s all a hoax. It’s human scepticism which is often helpful but also can be very detrimental when applied to large, broad issues of long term impact. We’re terrible planners for beyond a lifetime, as we’re not wired to live all that long. I’m not going to bother arguing with you further as I can tell your mind is made, and you’re entitled to that in our free country. Consider it a victory if it feels like a win, but I’ll keep reading and observing. Funny how in 2020 you’re considered in the dark by many if you realise what we’re doing to our only planet and the stakes regarding that.
As for Ducks Unlimited, they’ll also continue past this argument and what many here may believe will rock their boat, but it won’t. They’ll be plugging away at their mandate of conservation in several years when this is just a bitter memory for many here. Most at Ducks Unlimited will have forgotten this by then.
