The kit came from NorthStarWest...check their site below. All US made quality components. The owner Matt Denison provided all the coaching i needed.

When I received the kit i almost returned it when I saw the amount of work required...I was told the flash hole was included...it was but in a plastic bag (ss insert that need a hole and thread!!)...I did it and I am proud of it, the most difficult part is to drill the tang screw hole on an angle throught he trigger guard, stock and tang...
I appreciate the quality of the kit compare to other flinters that come from far abroad...it said 62cal and it is 62 cal...one of these import still has me chasing a mold for an in-between caliber (said .69cal but is realy .66, so 62ball too small and 69 ball too big)...
Anyway NorthStarWest has my vote!!

Let's Jazz it up...

Here is myself in action...with a flinter...this illustrate the requirement for the modern flash guard and some kind of protection for the eyes...I am still working on my flinching...I question that "load fast and aim slow" motto , considering the weight of these beasts, the flash, and the flash to bang delay...you realy have to learn to shoot again...practice that follow through!

The trick to holding a heavy rifle is to get your elbow right underneath your rifle.Support with bone as opposed to hold with muscle.

Hi Skip ,a swamped barrel is one that starts at a given Dia.,say 1",then tapers down slowly as you move towards to muzzle then goes back up to the original 1" as it nears the muzzle this can take a fair bit of weightt off a long barrel and looks really cool ,is hard to do correctly and is normally found on higher priced guns .
 
How about a hatfield ser.#3 cal. 50 and a custom hatfield 54 both from the good old days when Ted made them himself .I also had a beautiful 36cal Hatfeild flinter with a swamped barrel and wood to die for [of course I sold that one but you guys have allready heard that story a hundered times]

This rifle has an extreme flame maple stock,Rice round bottom groove coned barrel (13/16") straight .40 cal., Early Ketland Chambers lock(Siler),iron mounts and patch box.I just purchased this from the ALR forum.
