"...Ruger's 9 1/2" is a .22..." It's a Super Redhawk in .44 mag or .454 Casull or .45 Colt. None of their .22's come with a 9.5" barrel. The SRH comes with a 9.5" or 7.5" barrel, not 10.5". It's a very big revolver, but the grips are the same size as a GP-100.
"...does not allow magnum rounds...." Shoot .44 Specials out of it. Better to load .44 mag cases to .44 Special velocities though.
The old Dan Wesson Company made long barrels. The current company goes to 8".
S&W's max out at 8 3/8".
Shooting a very long barrel isn't as easy as you might think. They're heavy(over 3 pounds for a SRH) and you can't use them in any competitive target shooting. Long barreled revolvers are for hunting. No handgun hunting in Canada.

NICE. Know of any that are non magnum? Ruger's 9 1/2" is a .22. The range I will probably be joining does not allow magnum rounds.

There's nothing stopping you from loading .38 SPL rounds into the chamber of a .357 MAG revolver if you can't shoot magnum loads in LRGC's indoor pistol range. Same goes for a .44 MAG revolver...load it with .44 SPL cartridges.
*Edit: Whoops...didn't realize there was already a second page to this thread and a bunch of people already beat me to it.![]()
Ruger I beleive made one of their single actions with a 17 inch barrel for export to England- at that length they were allowed in as not being handguns...
I learned in the CFSC about the .357 Magnum & .38 Special interchangability, but wasn't fully aware of the .44 Magnum & .44 Special. And yes, the club I will most likely join is Langley Rod & Gun, but there is another around the White Rock area I will look at before I decide.
Dukeoflawnchair, what's the barrel length on that?I'm actually rethinking the super long barrel idea right now.
