I'm not opposed to Challenger shot shells, but they don't extract from my Beretta 686 or my Briley tubes!! Switching to AA' solves the problem.
When I shot trap the 12 gauge was $48 a flat and the 20 gauge was $90. Times have changed. Late 80's to mid 90's.
I stand corrected.

Plus you have the added benefit of re-using the AA hulls.

Had a similar problem with my reasonably priced H and R Pardner, I hate to use the word cheap lol. Switched to Remington and it works like a charm. Was the same or better price wise and more reliable if I want to reload if prices go real high.I'm not opposed to Challenger shot shells, but they don't extract from my Beretta 686 or my Briley tubes!! Cheapest I bought 20ga target loads last summer was at Prophet River for $79.99/flat plus gst for Remington Gun Club and Sheps Sports for $80/flat tax in for Winchester Super Target and/or Federal Top Gun and both places were same price for 12ga. Closest second was Cabelas putting Challenger on sale for $6.99/box but I wasn't spending $100+ in fuel to drive there and back to save $10/flat and I don't care for Challenger to begin with.
Reminds me of the first Challenger shells that I shot probably 15 or 20 years ago, I won a flat of them at a shoot, they were 12g 1 1/8 oz at 1200 fps and man did those suckers kick! They were way worse than the 1300 fps Super Sports from AA which I had no trouble tolerating. I avoided Challenger shells for a long time after that.
I was shooting a 686 or 682 in those days and had no issues with them ejecting.
I agree Cat, they must have changed the powder because they kick nothing like they did.
Different manufacturer of hulls and primers also now not sure on the wads
My first few boxes of challenger I blew a pile of ends off the hulls. I thought first I fired 3" in a 2 3/4 chamber but it was not the case
Cheers
Did they come in boxes of 20?
That surprised the heck outta me, didn't even think to look when I bought them ! LOL

Cannot remember Cat. I am going back some years ago
They were fine as supplied new in the box but after you fired them I was having a hard time getting the hull out of the gun to find the end blew off it and it was all black. 410 was the worst
Not every one but a few in a box. Enough to make me stop shooting them
Take care
Yeah, NOT an experience I want to relive either, danged near took my '97 trench gun apart!
