Is it still worth upgrading your AR furniture with the Liberals still in power???

...and they will absolutely NOT come and confiscate your property without compensation....quit listening to the fear and panic mongers on this forum! And besides...gun shops would love your business especially now...so help to support them.

Yes, the PM isn't some evil genius, like some seem hell bent on portraying him. He's a Hood Ornament, just that simple, and what's most important to a Hood Ornament is looking good. No it's not 100%, but it's so unlikely that they'll confiscate without a reasonable compensation package that you can say it's not going to happen.

The Liberals themselves have clearly stated that there would be a buy back at fair market value, so why are trying to create confusion and frustration by posting nonsense?

IF there is compensated compensation, you definitely WILL NOT receive what you paid for, even if you present them your receipt. Imagine being offered $500 for your Daniel Defense.

Again, nobody knows what will happen but I am not in a hurry to gucci up my AR any time soon.

The sheep that want to comply deserve absolutely zero in compensation.

You dont live in a free country. You dont drive over the speed limit and you certainly slow down when you see a cop, owning a firearm is no exception.

After all the money they are having to spend right now, against the backdrop of the debts the LPC has already run up I’m not so sure there’s going to be much of a political stomach for asking the public to support even more spending on a side issue like this one. I think they will be happy to let this one stay on the sidelines for a while. It did accomplish its primary goal at the time which was to distract the public from his multiple “Brownface” photos

What does that have to do with spineless individuals that will bend the knee ?

Do you drive? You have to be a moron to drive the speed limit on the roads around here, and If I'm going below the "real" speed limit I just wave.

Resistance isn't limited to sealing your hardware in a tube and dropping it in a lake. The courts would be the proper path to take, and since the facts are actually in our favor it would be a good place to start.

I legally purchased one of the original restricted type Norinco 97s. These were then declared prohibited due to the fact that it was determined that they could be converted to full auto too easily. The government was originally going to confiscate without compensation. I did arrange for a court date for an appearance before a judge to determine if there was a case worth hearing. Before this happened the government changed its mind and compensated the full purchase price based on the receipt I still had.

This was an extremely stressful process for a very average completely law abiding citizen (OK I have got 2 speeding tickets in 44 years). There was very little support and trying to do this without putting out money for a lawyer was very hard, time consuming and tough on me. When the officer arrived to pick up the firearm he was very good about the process and quite apologetic. The irony was that a couple of years later I was able to buy a new Type 97 without the selector lever for less money so in effect I made money on the deal. There are a few take aways here speaking from personal experience:

If the government is going to do this, there is likely not a lot you can do about it except comply or be in an illegal situation.

If you are found with prohibited weapons in your possession you are likely to have all your firearms, ammunition etc confiscated and be prohibited from ever owning again, get a suspended sentence and have a criminal record at minimum. This happened to a person that I knew.

You are unlikely to be compensated for accessories such as scopes, stocks etc. So I would not recommend spending a lot of money on these now unless you are in a good financial situation, really want them, and are prepared to have them taken away or left with stuff that you have no firearm to put them on

I recommend enjoying these firearms and shooting them while you still can. Make hay while the sun shines. You don't know what you got till its gone......

We really need to be smart here and calling each other out on a forum that can be accessed by anyone who cares to sign up is not recommended

It's shocking to see how many people seem to think it's okay to hand over their guns because they'll be compensated for them. Who do you suppose will set the "fair market value" figure on your rifle? And...if they make them even more difficult or impossible to use...what will "fair market value" be? Nobody will want them; fair market value will be pennies on the dollar. Now, if they re-worded it as "fair black market value" that would be a different story...

But to me the main point is that if I wanted the money more than I wanted the rifle...I wouldn't have spent the money to buy the rifle. Telling me to relax because, it's okay, I will get some money for the rifle so I should just smile and say thank you...:bangHead:

The government spin doctors will have it all laid out. First, there will be an announcement of confiscation without compensation; this will stir up the populace and produce much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. The powers-that-be will wait a length of time that seems appropriate...and then will announce that they have generously decided to toss us a few scheckels when they seize our property. Based on some of the responses here, a significant percentage of gun-owners will think that will be just fine and will just grab the money and run.

Whoopee-s%&t...we won...

the liberals will be buying back our guns to shoot themselves in the feet. They would never survive a post covid-19 vote if that's what they throw money at during a crisis where real numbers of people are dying, not just 200 gangsters and collateral damage from Tory and friends

Turd Reich....

I love it!! Hahahahaha I’m just coming out of my cave and socially distancing! LOL

Thanks for that afternoon giggle!

Back to the OP’s question... buy the furniture and enjoy!!

Cheers, Barney

Enjoy owning and shooting the guns you own
Buy and enjoy as many guns as you can
Get your family members to goto the range with you
Invite close friends for range trips too
Get even more joy from shooting the guns you own knowing that everytime you fire one of your guns, a Canadian Liberal is crying in a corner or seething in bitterness because that's all those people know what to do
