Debating whether this is more suitable in the "Picture of the day" post or here.

One odd little and unimpressive 'looking' gun was the Japanese Type 94 75mm Mountain (Pack) Gun. But with a range of 8300m its characteristics and capability were very impressive!

"General description.
This is the standard Japanese pack artillery piece which replaced the model 41 mountain gun. Designed for rapid assembly and dismantling, it breaks down into 11 units, the heaviest of which weighs 210 pounds. The weapon was normally transported by 6 pack horses or 18 men. The gun could be reassembled within ten minutes and disassembled in from 3 to 5 minutes. It is characterized by a comparatively long split-trail, hydro-pneumatic"

I recall years ago there was one displayed sitting on a pad in CFB Borden not far from the Alliston Gate. It has disappeared. Even when assembled those big (ancient looking) spoked wheels made it easier to manhandle over rough ground and bring into a firing position quickly

Tuballoy munitions

The soldier says: ' It looks like someone threw a frag in here, It's all rubble' & ' It's still warm.' Nearly thirty years later I wonder if this guy is still with us? I know of one Cdn.soldier who was in Bosnia, long dead of cancer. I do not know further details on his case. Another whose wife I once worked with was screwed up with non existent Gulf War Syndrome. He was sent over there (Gulf War theatre) in some capacity with the CF. I don't recall what his job was.

That the Americans would use such a lethal weapon so blithely with no regard for friendly fire casualties or casualties to civilians in the vicinity highlights their policy of hypocricy on such weapons. The shameful treatment of CF members by their own. What more can be said?

The uploader did a job on his title for sure.

The whole anti - communist crusade of the 1940's through 1970's can be seen as a smokescreen for colonial nations clutching to their toy boxes.
Yes it was ... and the communist goals (at the time) were to make those same countries their toy boxes. As the Chinese are currently doing around the world.
