It would appear there's only two lug extension on the market and both are available in the USA and designed for AR15's..APG Defence and Triple-R. I went with APG. This product does require some grinding to properly fit the Type 81.

When locked in place the unit is very sturdy with no movement on the back end. The only movement is from play between the ring and the barrel. Ideally a notch would be machined out of the barrel ring as apposed to grinding off the bayonet ring tab.

Also looking for something like this. A red dot sight on the rear sight mount looks like it should be doable. Normally I think a commie blaster like this should be left with irons but I’m pretty disappointed in mine. I had to adjust the front sight for windage all the way to the left... it looks stupid now and the sight hood is so close that it interferes with the sight picture.
 
What’s everyone’s opinion on the purpose of the top piece on the rear sight , the bar across the sight above the notch ?
I kinda thought it might be a way of using the sights at close quarters by using the top of the front sight post lined up with the top of that cross bar ?
Any ideas ?
And no I’m not cutting it off lol

I agree, this bar could easily provide quick and dirty adjustment for 3 yardages. The bar at top of front ring provides the correct post/rear sight alignment, bar level with top of front post and bar at base of front post for the longest range elevation.

i do not think the plastic will last as long as the metal mag ones but this is just my opinion. was surprised to see the steel mags modified working better on sks kd than the ak47 original one ... as well as Pecheneg demonstrated the t81 mags working in the sks kd perfectly.

Just cause some dude asks that for a S/N 00001 doesn't mean its worth any more than the $1000 it was yesterday.

Everything is for sale... for the right price.
 
He is trying to claim it as a low number gun. Well, it might be the first one made in 2019 based on the serial number of 20190001 visible on the receiver in one of the photos. Mine starts with 2017, for what it's worth. The 00001 he is talking about is on the bolt carrier, it's just the way to match it to the gun as far as I can tell. The first 0 doesn't seem to matter. On my bolt carrier it starts with a 0 and then the following 4 digits match with the second half of the serial number on my T81 receiver.

TI said all T81 came from one production in 2017 , they were stored at the factory so how come the latest shipment has a 2019 stamped as the serial number? That's weird.
 
I have a loose pistol grip and now my screw is stripped..
I spent half the day at the hardware store trying to find something that fits but the type 81, from what I researched is a M6-1.00 metric screw and the extra long length is impossible to find for me.

Any suggestions?

A bicycle shop might have metric screws. Otherwise you will need to go to a proper fastener shop
 
I had good luck with CCS Industrials ((905) 579-5222) in Oshawa. They had metric taps,tapered socket bolts and set screws. Not sure if you have them in your area or if they ship. They show 4 Ontario locations and 1 in BC.
