Chinese military SKS

I don't know the big attraction. I have a nice one! But they are heavy awkward and crude. And shoot oddball ammo. To me they are like an old British Lee Enfield. A piece of history to pull out and look at once in a while but certainly not anything fun to shoot.

The big attraction is they are cheap lol

And shoot oddball ammo.
You are a funny guy. 7.62x39 is the most common ammo on earth. Seriously. It is also probably the second most common ammo in Canada (I suspect .22lr is more common, some people claim also 9mm, but their stats were for USA).

A lot of people think they have a factory 26 but when looked at closely, the triangle surrounding the 2 numbers is actually the six and what looks like the 6 has a break in the bottom and is a 5.
From Cabela's May 2019, unshot.

There are no SKSs on sale anywhere I look. All gone. Quite disappointing, since there goes my chance of ever owning one, between that and the ban. COVID really screwed me.

Don't be too pessimistic just yet.

The Cabelas sale would have got you an SKS for $260 or so to your door.

There's thousands upon thousands already in Canada and they pop up in the EE that cheap. You just gotta move on one fast.

Post some WTB ads there and ####### etc. You'll get an SKS for the same price.

Sit down over there...... heavy and shoot “oddball ammo”..... hahha hahahahaha.

For what it is (intermediate caliber rifle) it IS kinda heavy though. Almost 9 lbs for a 10 shot 7.62x39mm. Although the pigsticker doesn't help lol

Laugh2
Oddball ammo!?!
An old British Lee Enfield, a joy to shoot, in a different way the SKS ,is also, in a fun plinker type way! Also fun to see how accurate you can be with the SKS,,, the Lee Enfield very accurate and powerful military firearm!
SKS is a relatively light military rifle considering the Bayo is attached and is tough as a tank! Don't know what to say about crude,,, what part is crude?
