I don't know the big attraction. I have a nice one! But they are heavy awkward and crude. And shoot oddball ammo. To me they are like an old British Lee Enfield. A piece of history to pull out and look at once in a while but certainly not anything fun to shoot.
You are a funny guy. 7.62x39 is the most common ammo on earth. Seriously. It is also probably the second most common ammo in Canada (I suspect .22lr is more common, some people claim also 9mm, but their stats were for USA).And shoot oddball ammo.
From Cabela's May 2019, unshot.A lot of people think they have a factory 26 but when looked at closely, the triangle surrounding the 2 numbers is actually the six and what looks like the 6 has a break in the bottom and is a 5.
I was just on cabelas website and can find no listing for sks rifles.....just ammo and acc.
There are no SKSs on sale anywhere I look. All gone. Quite disappointing, since there goes my chance of ever owning one, between that and the ban. COVID really screwed me.maybe gone ... it s drying up everywhere ...
