Firearms reform rumored release this week.

Any speculation to what the 11 types are? I can’t imagine they mean 11 functions/configurations of firearms. By name, I’m thinking:
1) AR15 variants
2) SKS
3) mini 14
4) rfb/rdb
5) tavor/type 97
6) cz 858/ vz 58
7) Swiss arms
8) acr/xcr
??

Good look to the RCMP at finding all of the NR firearms... The SKS is one of the most affordable semi automatic firearms in the country

Unfortunately they don’t need to find them, they just need to make it illegal for them to see the light of day. No more guns on store shelves, no more for sale ads, no more guns at the range. Out of sight, out of mind and it looks like a job well done.

Well Bill said, way back when, that the ban would affect some 250,000 firearms. There are like 80K AR-15s alone, and word on the gun range is importers were bringing in 100K SKSs per year at one point. I wouldn't be surprised if there are well over a million SKSs in the country.

AR-15 and Mini-14 are definitely on the chopping block, but that tells us that it's not a feature ban because both of those rifles have completely different features. This tells me it's a list-based ban. It's also not a blanket semi-auto ban because there are probably 7 million or so semi-auto rifles in the country.

That would be the kind of shape they'd get mine in...I have no intention of my stuff being put to use by the RCMP.

Especially as they'd probably put a negligent discharge through their own foot and find a way of blaming it on the former owner.

If it's true, dont waiste time and qet the rifle you wanted, next month you may not be able to buy it. Food for toughts.

and along with that good bye ammunition in the store shelves too, better go buy a couple of cases before this all comes down.

Finding them will be easy. This dude named mike from canmore bought up all the guns before the ban.

What about driving in our cars and closing off streets that would be perfect social distancing

Close down highways, freeways and rail lines for a few weeks.

Worked before. Hell that group got a private, confidential agreement with the government for that. Hopefully it'll be just as the economy starts to re-open so we can shut it back down.

As another gun tragedy has just rocked the country, the Liberals seem determined to quickly turn this crucial part of their electoral platform into reality.

A very sad week here in Nova Scotia and now this.

I think the timing of this is horrible given the fact the maniac who did the carnage in my back yard, drove through my town Sunday morning and past my business in
his mock RCMP car and uniform. He did not have a firearms License, and some (as I understand) of the firearms he had in his possession were illegally sourced from the US.

What they propose to bring in will not solve issues like this.

The problem is once it’s announced it’s too late. Same thing happened in the 90’s and many firearm owners responded by accusing others of fear monger it etc as the government wouldn’t do this... protest after the fact was ineffective. Non restricted went to restricted then shortly after those were registered they went prohibited. A few years later ATT were no longer issued. Pretty safe weights. I would still rather own them than not but it was dirty tactics. Right now the government is looking at even worse with New Zealand style changes.

The incidents the Liberals have been using don’t even support the BS narrative they are putting forth. Add in a Pm with two ethic violations, black/brown face, sNC Lavalin obstructing/interference, along with stating we can’t travel on Easter to see family, not to cross Provinces and yet does exactly that himself. This current regime has zero moral authority and should have zero trust from the pubic/firearm owners to do what is fair and right. Rules clearly don’t apply to them. Yet we should trust them to use evidence based decisions, and when going against that very premise we should trust them to provide “fair market value” while also trusting them that these proven failed “safety” initiatives will help keep Canadians safe. Proven track record that going after the law abiding doesn’t work to stop crime along with examples used to kick off this charade wouldn’t have been stopped with these new laws.

Funny how the people who claim to be the most enlightened, open etc with socialism/liberalism are the very ones to act in a totalitarian and fascist manner. How do you think protesting after the fact will change anything with a regime like this? Once it’s announced they are committed. Those “town halls” were window dressing so they could claim we were consulted before screwing us over. Even that was conducted in a shady as heck manner. Once it’s announced it’s too late. The only savior would be the Liberals somehow losing an election before this comes into effect.

Now is exactly the time to act. Once it’s announced short of a miracle, it’s too late. They have made zero attempts to disguise their intent.
