Firearms reform rumored release this week.

"rights" that's where you are wrong my friend. unfortunately, here it is not a "right" to have firearms, it is a privilege.

Be careful saying that around here, the dummies that think we are America will MAGA you to death with all sorts of endless drivel.

You owning property or driving a car is also not a right, but a privilege. So, i'm assuming you're willing to give those up to in exchange for compensation, since they aren't rights?

Right?

Youza.

And that's true it is. And unfortunately, if they did that, it is what it is. prob could do with out vehicles as people are horribly unhealthy these days. But yea for guns... unfortunately if they take em. literally can't do anything. You can put up a stink n all. but unfortunately the machine wins.

I feel sorry for you that they don't make prosthetic spines.
Your shepherd doesn't even need a dog.

Youza.

Where's this 2% coming from?? Would like to see some some facts to back that up...
Not the precise number is important here.
What is important is that the VAST MAJORITY (regardless if it is 98%, or 97.5%, or 97%, or 96.7%, etc) of legal firearms owners are too cheap even to get a simple $35 membership to support CCFR or other orgs of choice. Perhaps you are one of them if you are requesting a source of precise information here, lol.

where is the money for the buy back coming from? western Canada is in a crappy spot economically. and Eastern Canada has never really been a big money maker. And that is not even touching on the amount of money that has been spent and/or not received due to covid and rail blockades..... like what is going on within Canada its ridiculous.
They should also be looking at banning decals..... because they had a huge part in what happened with the recent tragedy. Why do people who most likely have no knowledge on guns make gun laws..

Same place all the free money Trudeau is giving away because of the pandemic. He has effectively bought every single freeloaders vote in the coming election.

I'm still hanging my hat on grandfathering but it's probably more wishful thinking.

Yes, you win a license to take out your now-prohibited firearms once a month from it's triple locked safe, stroke its curves, appreciate its beauty and recall your fond memories, then put it back.

They updated the Radio-Canada Article, the ban list is there and there is a grandfathering for people who don't want money....

In detail, the “provisional list of firearms whose prohibition is recommended” specifically includes nine weapons:

Carbine M16, M4, AR-10 and AR-15 (dramas by Sandy Hook, Las Vegas and Orlando, in the United States, and that of Christchurch, in New Zealand / estimated number in circulation: 83,572)
Ruger mini-14 rifle (Polytechnique drama / estimated number in circulation: 16,859)
Swiss Arms, Classic Green model (estimated number in circulation: 1,342)
M14 rifle (Moncton drama / estimated number in circulation: 5,229)
Vz58 rifle (drama of the Quebec Mosque / estimated number in circulation: 11,593)
Cz Scorpion EVO 3 pistol rifle (estimated number circulating: 1,813)
Beretta CX4 Storm rifle (Dawson College / estimated number in circulation: 1513)
Rifle and pistol SIG Sauer SIG MCX and SIG MPX (estimated number in circulation: 1000)
Armament Robinson XCR (estimated number in circulation: 1834)
And this list also includes two categories:

Caliber more than 20 mm
Initial energy of more than 10,000 joules
...
...
..
The government also wants to set up a “non-permissive acquired rights” regime for owners who do not wish to obtain compensation.

Now you are turning this around on me? lets say its even 75% of people don't have a membership, where is this source? to me it sounds like you are pulling an unrealistic number out of your ass. You cant make a claim like that then when questioned say "the number is not important"..sounds like something Trudeau would do...

Maybe your number is correct or maybe its way off, but maybe if they advertised more who are not on the forums or new or new to the sport or shoot here and there would know and consider it.

Not the precise number is important here.

This government reminds me of a lousy 90s sitcom. A bumbling fool talks himself into a position that is way beyond his capability and he destroys the country as a result. The problem is that nothing gets fixed in a half an hour and there is nothing funny about it. This is just another example of a stupid, heavy handed, corrupt law that we get to suffer through. How can anyone think this would have prevented the NS massacre? The shooter burned 9 victims to death and used firearms he smuggled illegally into the country. Are they going to ban lighters and matches too? I have never been so disappointed in my country before

A government about nothing.

Only if applicable. Your registration will have a barrel length on it, assuming it is a complete rifle. I would only imagine, as the receiver (the the actual registered firearm) and barrel are the two named/accounted for parts, they both need to be turned in... But who knows. If I have to turn mine in for a buy back, you csn be sure it'll be stripped down to only what is required. If the other parts become useless relics, they'll at least be my useless relics.

What about people who had a barrel registered on the receiver but took the barrel off a week ago and sold it/no longer have it? they have 30 days to report the change. If thats the law when it was done, those 30 days still exist to change it back to just a receiver. Or do existing laws not matter anymore? Its hard to tell with the liberals. It seems like they'll just ignore laws or change them until they get their way.

This sounds like grandfathering to me...
