Nope. Posting this from news article f.y.i for anyone wondering: "these Guns need to be safely stored, and only
transferred or transported for the purpose of deactivation or surrendering the gun to police"
 
I just grandfathered all my NR this morning, myself after my second cup of coffee, it's a done deal.
 
I'm no politilcal scientist, but I find it a bit scary the Liberals used this OIC (order in council) to completely sidestep the legislative process. The way this OIC is even worded leaves to door wide open to prohibit just about any other gun imaginable; hand guns are next!

This isn't a just a hit on recreational shooters, it's a flat out smack on the face of democracy!

My eyes are really not good this morning , is the Kris Vector , SKS and Armalite 180 B on that list ? I checked but didnt see them . I just want to make sure as i don't want any unneeded hassle from the law

Hey Mabuhay. Absolutely not. As of yesterday, you cannot shoot the now prohibited "assault rifle" on your own property, or even a shooting range. If you haven't seen it, here's the full list of banned firearms http://canadagazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p2/2020/2020-05-01-x3/html/sor-dors96-eng.html

My question to anyone here: Is the SKS rifle excluded from this banned list? I couldn't find it named anywhere in the link above.

There's plenty of semis not included on the list.
Most milsurp, a bunch of really expensive european models, a few from israel, one from poland etc etc.. But don't worry, they will be gone next.
I'm not gonna list them, but they know they are out there.

Then try being truly fair to Jews and be clear on your facts! As the Nazi's invaded all European countries the same prohibition laws that had been implemented in Germany were being implemented onto the local populations effectively banning Jews from owning anything from Guns to businesses or private property, and with over 75% of world Jewry living in Europe at the time that 6 million Jews that were wiped out was more than half of the entire world population of Jews, and yes it all started with them being deprived of the right to defend themselves through banning of gun ownership, the only Jew that owned a gun in Europe from the mid 30's to after 45 was one fighting in the resistance.

I am not saying that this is what will happen here but having lived most of my life in a proper police state, this much I can tell you without a doubt, we still had more freedoms than you have in Canada today, there is nothing you can do in this country today that does not require some form of governmental approval or trigger a revue of you in one way or another, you cant even send your children to a school of your choice, they have you from your driving record to your financial history and if you think this ends well, then sooner or later you are in for a very brutal surprise, people like Bill Blair and Justin Turd are the worst of what this planet has to offer, they are far more evil than the dictators of N Korea or Putin could ever be, at least those evil actors don't pretend to be what they are not, the Turd is an evil little Hitler in disguise make no mistake about it, this wonderful country will rue the day they ever gave him the power to run it, the Canadian population is all too complacent and they are seriously damaging their own future and the price for it will be very high one day.

I'm not really that interested in the list. To me it's more an issue of, what's a reasonable new classification for some these firearms, VS the perception of safety towards other firear

Everyone here knows the absurdity of reclassification/gun ban. It'll only perpetuate the perception to those who are afraid of them, that they're now somehow safer. I wish I could remember the part of Britain where this occurred, but at some point they had a program in place that enabled criminals/gangs and others to drop off firearms, with no legal ramifications. But then stabbings went up significantly.

I think in the hands of a fully committed driver, a van loaded with cinder blocks could easily run over at least 30 people. When no gun is available, people get creative.

I'm guessing he used a CZ Scorpion Evo 3. All the other guns on the list can be explained;
Mini14 for poly tech, m14 for Moncton, 858 for the Quebec mosque, Storm for Dawson college, Swiss arms because they wanted them banned before and the Cons made them legal. AR15... are scary, (the ACR and SIG are ones I'm not sure if they are being lumped in as close enough to AR15 that they want to ban because of that or maybe he had one too...) But the scorpion is just a 9mm carbine... I'm guessing it's sharing the list with the berreta storm because of the last shooting.
