first of all we are a Constitutional Monarchy; never ever have we been a democracy. We are well on our way to becoming totalitarian/communist. Any semblance of democracy we had was lost the day we were legislated to use specific speech Bill C-16

I would say until you get a letter in the mail from your CFO or what not saying your att is invalid and your property is prohibited, you’re free to continue using your rifle as you please. I don’t think a press conference is really a legally binding document. Probably a slippery slope here, but just saying.

No. You can't take them anywhere. probably don't even touch them not you I mean your friend.

May be in a near future Liberals will prohibite military style dogs why anyone needs German shepherd or black Russian terrier when they can have a puddle!

Actually the German's didn't ban guns. They banned "Weapons of War which have no place on our streets". Sounds sickeningly familiar doesn't it? BTW this included everything from knives to bolt actions. K98 was a weapon of war and they really wanted that gone.

In both the UK and Australia, after their bans full auto firearms started showing up on their black markets as well as hand grenades. Since they have already started seeing submachine guns in drug raids here (mostly shop made) I can imagine things are going to get a lot more interesting here in that regard very shortly.

Brother, don’t say things like this.... I sincerely thank you for your service and you have done this for the good people of Canada, in which we are both thankful and proud of you. Governments come and go, but our brothers and sisters in uniform will endure.
 
I wonder if there's a precedent for a decision like that to get overturned later by a different government, or once it's done and the Bill is out, it is final?
 
DO NOT TURN IN ANYTHING ... there is 2 years to overturn this slimy ##### Ass ruling. Taking guns from law-abiding citizens will not stop any illegal crimes with illegally obtained smuggled firearms.
 
The question is if there's a precedent to that, because there's not, even Conservatives wouldn't want to fight for it - it will be too tough and can be unpopular among the swing/borderline voters. It can be a political suicide considering how the society is tilted to the "left" nowadays...
 
Shame on our current Gov't.... Enacting an Order in Council to BAN all assault type military weapons on the Eve of a World Global Health Pandemic.
This government has made the ultimate circumvention of due legislative process in government ( No sitting of Gov't in Parliament ) to LAW. Charters of Rights includes the not withstanding clause... Go figure...

Our rights are dictated by dictators that take full advantage of peoples distress and NEED and enact laws contrary to full facts. Shame on this Gov't for not doing the homework in getting to the ROOT of this Social disorder and enacting laws to combat this issue. I once believed that such actions would never be repeated in history ( naive ) I was. History was never learned by the people who hold power on it's people, only to be repeated over and over again. May God forgive them for not knowing what they do.
