Since it seems like a lot of guys missed this most important news, I thought it deserved its own thread. It was with a very heavy heart I learned from Redleg, that due to a corporate decision, The Shooting Edge will no longer be the primary importer/distributor of Swiss Arms firearms in Canada. I can't tell you just how big a beancounter mistake that is, especially considering the fact that FN Sports/R. Nicholls is slated to be their replacement! Here are some selected cut/paste comments posted by Redleg and others in the previous thread.

As of 1 Jan 08, FN Sports/R Nicholls will be the importer. Sauer in Germany is handling the worldwide distribution of SAN, and they have restructured and are using their present distributor network.
We will continue to provide technical support.

We will continue to carry accessories and parts. SAN has been quite poor in planning production over the past 2 years. Things are improving and we expect to see better supply of guns over the next years. I don't think anyone will be disappointed.

This is the worst f**king news in the century.

I think we should start a petition with Swiss Arms to have a separate distribtuion agreement for Canada.

Again, this is not a SAN decision. They are owned by the same group that owns SIGARMs, Blaser, Sauer etc. This is a corporate decision to streamline distribution.

Let's see... what other interesting brands can we get TSE to import... :)

Sucks for TSE. I've heard nothing but bad things about R.Nicholls...

I really think TSE has 'upped the stakes' as far as getting cool stuff in-country for us to play with! The diversity in brands has increased MANY times over since this website started up waaay back when.

R.Nicholls SUCKS

I broke the bolt stop on my colt RO634 R.Nicholls is the colt distributer they would NOT sell me the part (this was before all the us gove bull#### too)

Look R Nichols isnt that bad...as long as your prepared to wait over a year..for parts that in the end might not even show up...or call them up on the phone..to hear the dial tone...or generally be treated like a hunk of #### smelling garbage..then you got now worries right?

I didnt know that USP 9mm barrels were so scarce that it takes over a year to get one...USP sites took me almost 7 months..

Its enough to make me want to not buy SIG or HK..

With most companies/distributors I would agree with this assesment, however this is R Nichols/FN Sports we are talking about.

When I started my company I couldn't even get their sales rep to call me back!

I still can't get them to call me back on products that my clients can't get and that they have the exclusive on.

R Nichols pisses me off more than the Liberals do, and I really hate Liberals.

well looks like the tavor might be the only quality NR left in the game if the service for the PE90's is that bad

pss the fact that people hate this company more then then nazi.... i mean lieberals Scare's me that companys are giving them sole disrtributation rights

Well R. Nicholls sent a 20rd (unpinned) Hk91 mag to my house in 2001, when I called and asked for a 5rd pinned mag...
 - just after they told me they could not sell my a light housing for my MP-5

Some of Nicholls reps are great -- some are awful. However the good ones tend to end up quitting or resigning themselves to a sense of failure and someone in their system screwing the orders.
Bob's guys seem to have taken the Hk (lack of) customer service moto to heart.

redleg mentioned they released the price list and it was pretty much the same. but we'll see.

"FN Sports has already released their dealer price list. Their prices on most items are identical. We will continue to have access to parts and accessories."

You need to read between the lines. There is a rifle price increase coming....don't say I didn't warn you.

Yeppers. The best way I found was pick a rep who will respond to you, call him directly, and never take a 'can he call you back', and or get thier email addy and keep to that one guy.

I'am from Quebec province, R.Nichols is not far from me and the service sucks, the peoples sucks and if they didn't change their law yet, they don't sell to civil, only to buisness but to the civil prices so expect to pay few more $$ than from TSE

The less hand the product touch, the less you pay no ??
With TSE, they import and sell, that why we had so good price AND service

When they stop selling I wonder if Swiss Arms will notice. Also lower production price means more money for nicholls, and no change in price for us.

what about a letter writting campain think Swiss arms will listen if it means they will lose sales??

i was hoping to get one looks like i won't now

This keeps getting brought up, but please, this was NOT a Swiss Arms decision. Sauer, SAN, Blaser, SIG Sauer (ex SIGARMS) all belong to the same people. They have decided that SAN is to be marketed by Sauer.

The retail prices will go up. You are dreaming if you think otherwise.

R. Nichols is also dreaming if they think anyone aside from them are responsible for their poor reputation with the Canadian gun owner population.

If anything the Price on Sigs should be going down due to:
-Increased value in the Canadian dollar
-More efficient production

However our prices will go up.

I talked to a Nicholes rep once and he was tellin me all about the gun he had on demo and nothing about any other guns... I dont think he had a clue...

I dont like them... their SIG sales will be droppin... PLUS if it breaks, try to get parts for your 3000 firearm!!!!!!!!!! might as well sell it now.

The fact that they only sell to LE and stores is stupid most of the GUN market is civi-single sales....
