Swiss Arms - New Canadian Importer!

So, have they said they will not supply local dealers or is this just your assumption?
R. Nichols does not sell directly to consumers. They are a distributor. If they are planning to be selling these guns at all (which redleg says they are), how else can they do it if not by supplying local stores?

As much as the switch from TSE to R. Nichols may suck, it's not all doom and gloom. You will probably still be able to buy Swiss Arms and I doubt that the price will change much if at all. TSE will still be bringing in parts and accessories. Take a deep breath everyone.

By pushing Mil/LE sales, or not sell them at all. Just because they will now be distributing does not mean they will actually sell any.

Talking with many manufactures and they have all said the same thing, they get an upfront large bulk purchase and provide them the exclusive and then that's it, they don't get any more orders. But then they hmm and haa about switching to a new distributer/dealer because of the agreement.

R. Nichols does not sell directly to consumers.

They shouldn't have walk in stores then and provide better service to the dealers.

I'm not aware of any Canadian police or military units that use Swiss Arms guns and I doubt this will change in the future. Look, I'm not defending R. Nichols but I think the panic is a bit premature. Sure, they have ####ty customer service but I find it difficult to believe that the would stop selling SAN rifles to the public for no reason whatsoever. Why exactly would they do that? Half the guns in this country are imported by FN/R. Nichols and most of them can be obtained without much difficulty. What makes SAN different?

There are in fact both mil and police users. Having said that you are entirely correct. HK, SIG, Blaser, Taurus/Rossi are all exclusively imported by FN Sports and for the most part they are readily available in stores.

Out of curiosity, who is using SAN on the MIL/LE side?

This would have really got up my nose if it had happened before Questar started selling the 10-round AR mags but now I'm just mildly annoyed.

This is the same R Nicholls that told me to try going to the Canadian Tire on MacLeod Trail to get a P226 sight adjustment tool, right?

The fact that no-one who works at R Nicholls posts here or even attempts to make us aware of new products coming out tells you all you need to know about them.

I have to say though, it was long past time that Swiss Arms sorted out their distribution network, it was a total mess. SIG Arms, Inc. was the biggest laugh, SIG has had nothing to do with them since 2000.

More relevant point: does this mean Questar will have the custom shop line taken off them too? Regardless of the rifles, I just cannot see R Nicholls being even vaguely interested in importing them, which is how Questar became the importer in the first place.

Geez.....in case you cannot see it, swiss arms probably has a suggested MSRP. If you can check, TSE has been pretty much following the same retail price of PE90 in switzerland .

I can guarantee you that the price will not drop ! Of course, R. Nicholl can set whatever dealer price they want but why will they drop the price? Why will the retailer drop the price when they know people will choke up the full MSRP?

Expect to pay the same or more.

Sauer is bunch of idiots to allow a single importer to represents themselves and their main competitors int the same market. I wonder what R.Nicholl will push these days...SG552 or HK416? Right, the one with higher margin of course. Apparently they do not have conflict of interest in their busines dictionary.

Nichols are very opportunistic and will charge you through the nose if they can and then tell you how lucky you are to be able to buy from them. I hope someone eats their lunch.

True story:

I wanted a Safariland velcro inner belt for my Safariland PPC belt rig a few years back. At the time I worked for DND.

The Ottawa store outright REFUSED to sell me the inner belt saying it was a "LEO/Military only item".

I had to actually flash my DND security ID to get them to agree to sell me a belt available almost EVERYWHERE online with no restrictions whatsoever.

I haven't graced their doors since, despite the fact they are like 10 minutes away from me.

If you guys think there will be ANY availability of black rifles through them for civilian consumption - you're DREAMING.
