Trudeau and Blair BAN 12 Gauge and 10 Gauge SHOTGUNS!

I want to know what animals we can hunt in North America with .50BMG.

I don't own a 50 , but why do you specify hunting in North America ? I've hunted in quite a few other countries , like a lot of Canadians , where the Minimum caliber allowed is 375 . Most PH's prefer you use something larger for Cape Buffalo , you know like 577 Nitro Express ( banned ) 505 Jeffries ( banned ) and a few others , some of which are chambered in rifles that cost in excess of 50 to 100 thousand dollars . If it's just the fact that you don't care about hunters that fall outside of your experience , just say so , it would save a lot of wasted words and needless argument .

Pick your favourite choke size fellas, and weld it in. Or, is it legal to cut the threaded choke portion off the barrel, as longs as it meets minimum length requirements? I realize that someone may not want to bugger up a really expensive collector/skeet gun. Its just a thought.

I am thinking this is an error, the Libs were going after literal 20mm as in autocannons and not duck guns.
Still a serious problem though....

It may be an error but it is written in that OIC and as such, as long as that OIC bears legal weight, meaning it is in effect, it carries all of the legal ramifications for the owners.

It’s pretty simple. Ed is just pointing out what the liberals oic says. Now either the clown, billy and the rest are so incredibly deviously smart to put this in or they are incredibly inept imbeciles who really don’t know what they are doing.
I would tend to agree with the latter.

We spoke to our local MB CFO and they said that 10 and 12 GA shotguns are still non-restricted if they were previously. They did however state that if the choke was removed and the bore was greater than 20mm the firearm would then be deemed prohibited. Keep your chokes in and you're fine. Still ridiculous.

That is legally invalid advice. At best it has created a defense of officially induced error for the person who was told this directly but no none else. It is just plain incorrect. Proving once again the CFO has no idea what they are talking about.

All big game species in bc can be hunted with .50 bmg. Also coyotes, ground hogs,...

You seem to welcome the changes. Don't you own a now prohib 12 gauge or a big bore dangerous game rifle?

Albguy40 is no longer on line ........... I guess he doesn't want my 460 , or to tell me how bolt action hunting rifles aren't effected by the ban , hmm .

I sold them all to Mike from Cannmore. About 3 months ago, checked his pal and it looked legit so yeah...

Honestly though the 12 gauge thing is I am sure a technical oversight. They will come out with clarification. There are a lot of loopholes they did not think of (which hopefully works in our favor). I say we let this one play out... Hopefully they are working on a Judicial Review application as we speak.

10ga & 12ga shotguns with their screw in choke tubes removed, exceed 20mm.

Screwing in a choke tube to make the bore diameter less than 20mm, is like attaching a flash hider and claiming it increases the barrel length.

Both are illegal.

Don't measure at the muzzle... That is all I am going to say...

I have thought for a while that most of the liberals moves with regards to guns are intended to provoke gun owners. Page 65 of the OIC is interesting as it reveals that they know they need our cooperation for this OIC to work. The more unreasonable this OIC becomes the less likely they will get that cooperation.

Ah you're back , so tell me again how the current government hasn't banned my 460 Weatherby

We all know how the RCMP is very strict when it comes to applying firearms laws. Like to the letter. Read up on the CZ858 debacle or the Molon Labe versions. This makes my o/u shotgun prohibited. Fact.
