My 12g shot gun is now prohibited for turkey and already got my tag

So is this an amended regulation or just a “Bill said so and it’s all good”
If so please highlight the amendment in the Regs.

Perhaps that "out" should have been written into the OIC. Makes one understand why the present regs are near impossible to interpret without the help of legal council more often than not. Even still it's a 50/50 proposition.

Negotiating in bad faith. That's exactly what we need to gain public support.

Bad faith?? It is written in the OIC.

I'm guessing "we" means you own a shotgun with screw in choke.

This will likely play out to be a nothing burger but it's enlightening to read many of the posts here. I previously was always annoyed with those using the term "fudd", thought it was uncalled for and was a needless divisive slur., I'm now starting to get the concept.

When the shyte hits the fan you figure out quickly who your friends are.

I was under the impression that gun owners were a community that look after one another whether we shared their tastes or not. So, yes, "we".

and yes, I'm very aware of what's written the OIC. There's a difference between looking for clarification (as other organizations did) and immediately trying to profiteer as CSSA did and has done repeatedly in recent years. Remember last June's AR ban that never was? Remember the Ruger mag class action lawsuit?

This was why I chipped in on another thread to say that I thought the CSSA "interpretation" was laughably bad.

It makes me smile that when a politician says something everyone screams "ulterior motive - hidden agenda" yet when a lobbyist who works for a pressure group dependent on donations comes out with an extreme and fairly easy to challenge interpretation of the law people are all nodding and saying "yes - must be true - must be true" before running to their shotguns with a tape measure to gleefully show that they are now criminals.

I've very much an outsider from this echo chamber here - and to some extent that gives me the distance to recognize manipulation and motivated fear mongering when I see it.

This is a pretty obvious attempt to increase the size of the "pressure group" who write to their MP by "making the Fudds worry too". Sorry - when you try an obvious manipulation it almost always destroys your credibility for the real points you have to make.

Does anyone know of any gun shops that have stopped selling 12g shotguns because of this somewhat quixotic "interpretation"? because I did a spot check and there are very very many that still are.

They've all stopped selling 10's and 12's under advice from CSAAA that they should wait for clarification just in case. It does go beyond just trying to ceate a larger pressure group. It's not debateable that the OIC's writing is laughably bad and clearly hap harazrdly throw together. There is a concern that because the firearms act doesn't say where you're supposed to measure bore that in theory an authority figure could choose to measure it at the threads. However, that doesn't make the CSSA's fundraising opportunity legitimate either.

Who is "they"?

Because I've seen a bunch of sites that have taken down all their AR15's.

But..

https://www.cabelas.ca/category/pump-action/1148?caliber=12 Gauge
[bored now - but could go on...]

So who is the "they" you talk of?

I too have been unable to find stores who have removed 10 and 12 gauge shotguns off their website...

Didn't realize anyone still was. Epps, The Gun Dealer and Wolverine have all pulled them.

Well,I just measured both my guns the same way the RCMP lab measured for the OIC. They both measured 18.6mm at the end of the forcing cone as described by international measure standards. Obviously,a LEO attempting to measure using a caliper at the muzzle has no clue what they're talking about,so,#### 'em,I'm going huntin'.

Post up the RCMP lab policy?

Also "international Standard" mean sweet ##### all

Then look up the CBSA policy, hint it measures the muzzle with chokes removed. But lets not let facts get in the way of a good case of denial LOL
