LOL Orders in Council can only be used to ban specific items thats why all the Ar15s they could possibly think of are listed same with 20mm it lists the ptrd Russian anti tank rifle etc.
You shot guns are fine. to ban all firearms over 20mm they would need legislation and it would have to go through parliament like bill c-68 otherwise its only the ones they have listed orders in council can only ban specific items and they must be listed but don't get me wrong we must fight for our firearms if this stirs up yhe duck hunters then its a good thing

Apparently some tests showed a substantial increase in velocity of shot through the overbored barrels. Cant remember what the averages were at the moment. I really didn't care about the potential increased speeds. I was more interested in the patterns, particularly with larger shot sizes, which from my experience have been better then my other 12g guns. All that means nothing if you miss the target, so take it for what its worth...

50 mins on the phone and he got help looking. Couldnt find any 8ga. When he started opening things coming up were all 10ga guns. He stated they were non restricted. I did learn theres at least 1 10ga colt sxs with longer than 36" barrels though.

For those so worried about their 12 gauge shotgun a simple test for an over 20mm bore would be to take a 20mm steel ball bearing and drop it in the chamber and see if it falls through the bore and out the muzzle.
The bore is not the largest diameter between the breech and the muzzle, it is the smallest diameter after the chamber area and before the choke area, that is the bore of a shotgun.

While you are technically correct, in this particular scenario it is however the RCMP measure it. Burlews opinion is based on the forensic method the RCMP have on record for measuring bore. The technical truth of the "actual" bore measurement is no more pertinent than the fact my AR is not an actual Assault Rifle but has been deemed one by the powers that be and prohibited.

I just read in a thread under General that Blair said the 20mm rule didn't include 10ga and 12ga shotguns.

Just outside the forcing cone where it is to be measured and yes a 835 may be as you guys say today but the barrel I have was from a first year gun 1988 and it wasn't then. I bought one new as soon as they hit canada with this extra barrel. There was no talk about the 10ga comparison it was all about the new 3 1/2" round for a 12ga which is why I wanted it and it proved to be a POS
