No one knows, The prohibition on uppers means you can't buy, import and own them. for now just don't take them out of the house, Keep them lock up along with your rifle if you are really that uncomfortable with it and wait for the buy back program or further instructions.Does anyone know what the storage requirements are for recently prohibited AR uppers? I'm having a hard time keeping trigger locks on them.

No, not at all. The uppers are now prohibited devices. Same as supressors, full capacity magazines, and grenades.
I believe they need to be locked up but I don't know the rules on storage of prohibited devices.
