SKS, where have you been all my life.

Got out yesterday.

With a couple cheap Cabela's $180 SKS.

I am not sure how anyone could look down on these guns.

One of funnest guns I have shot in a long time.

Not one failure and shot pretty accurately....

I hope the dealer's start bringing in more of these....

Sounds like you are a little late to the game as the days of $180 SKSs is long gone ; but better late than never .

Iv always had alot of fun with my 1951 tula! I have some hunting SP’s i plan on hunting deer with this rifle season if early bow season is a bust! Ballistically they say there a 3030 with the right load.

Why not just get a 30-30 then?

Light, easy to carry, more accurate etc etc.

O, sorry, does not fill your mall ninja fantasies.

Hey stop posting negative comments in here. We get it you don’t like the sks so piss off! I could just as easily say why be a cowboy wanna be with a lever gun.

Your being a troll and its annoying.

Compare the price of ammo for 7.62x39mm and 30-30 cal. The latter costs from 1.0 to $1.5/round. It all depends on how many rounds per year one shoots. Personally, I shoot about 3,000/year of corrosive and non-corrosive 7.62x39mm. Some guys shoot 2 or 3 times more than that. Pricewise 7.62x39mm ammo is King.

What I cannot figure is 100 bag count of PPU brass is $65.

I have seen PPU loaded rounds for $14.95/20

So $75 / 100 rounds of loaded ammo vs ,$65/100 brass????

Am I missing something?

Do some SKS screw up brass so badly it cannot be reloaded?

Unfortunately, I've never been into re-loading. I've been a frugal guy and been shooting cheap calibers. I still have the corrosive 7.62x39mm rounds, I bought for about
20 cents/round and non-corrosive for less than 30 cents/round. Even at todays prices non-corrosive Norinco or Barnaul can be had for about 30-45 cent/round. Hunting ammo is about twice as expensive but how many rounds one needs, anyway? In the foreseeable future, if prices would steadily climb, perhaps, I'd change my mind about re-loading.

I am just looking towards the future after LIEberals bring in Bulk ammo bans and such....will be nice to have good stock of bullets, primers and powder.
