Small world, born and raised, and still in Burns lk lol.

The rifle I grab 99% of the time, is either my grandmothers custom pre 64 .375 h&h, or my grandfathers mannlicher chambered in 9.5x57 (.375 nitro express). Both are inherited rifles, their not finished being used yet ;).

I was born in Burns, lived for a short time out across Francois. Then lived in Houston

Go to for everything, stainless, synthetic, lightweight rifle is in 7mm08.

I have lots of other rifles, but none that are "go to" for any situation. Mainly because of nice blue and walnut.

I agree, my go to is a Kimber Montana. Outstanding functional rifle, no complaints to be had.IMG_20200607_115148~2.jpg

Savage Hog Hunter in 308W. 180 grain Federal softbpoint. Only big game rifle I currently own. Shotgun season I have a 20 gauge rifled Mossberg.

Current is 45/70 for spring bear, mainly cuz it has yet to draw blood
Over summer current will be 223 for coyotes, ### fall current choice will likely be .30 for deer and then current up to .338 mag for elk/moose

Here in Alberta 0.230" calibre is the minimum for big game. Is there anywhere in Canada that requires larger than that? Muzzle energy requirements?

interesting groupings

well for me its more open country and 300WM for Moose season and if no moose tags then the 25-06 is the go to for deer.

selection I have a few to choose from and have recently added a 325WSM and 338WM to the line up.

on a longer trip I pack a backup rifle and that normally is the 7mmRM

The groupings were chosen based on similar energy. With the poll limited to 10 selections, it was difficult to choose how to put things together. I know the bigger cartridges start to vary quite a bit, but the poll cant be edited, so it's stuck as is. My main purpose of the poll was to find out how much energy people prefer to shoot for their hunting gun, whatever style of hunting people choose to do.
