Apparently, according to our fellow members here, we are all working for the enemy and do not deserve any amount of protection...

As someone who works in a metro hospital, our screeners have likely had more knives pulled on them since the hospitals restricted access, than most cops will across a multi year period.
 
I know all about it. People have completely lost all sense of reasoning since this pandemic started. We have had more violence and abuse towards our paramedics (hospital based service) in the past few months than in the past several years. Most agencies will not supply protective equipment so most first responders are required to purchase their own. Why there are people here arguing that first responders do not deserve a discount for this equipment is beyond my understanding and lacks reasoning...
 
#72 here, I stand by what I said, you have substantial income and benefits and pensions. You don't need a discount on anything. Personal feelings aside, I don't care what kind of cop you are, I try and avoid as many as possible, it's healthier that way.

An error is not a mistake until you refuse to correct it.
If the idea is so good it should be able to withstand any level of scrutiny, covering it up sends the exact opposite message.

It’s fine if they do though, let the more equal animals carry AiT.

Want to enjoy stability, don’t change all the rules daily. Especially for contrived bu|| $hit like the plandemic.

if they work security, they can ask for a discount, provide a copy of their ID and they will get the discount ..


interesting, the Class Envy is boiling over even among the Canadian licensed gun owners, who by the nature of their activities should not be paupers …

we seem to be ready for The Great Canadian Socialist Revolution, let's Expropriate the Expropriators … anyone making a buck more is a mortal enemy ...

some started with isolating rich, some with Jews and/or Gypsies, some with Christians, some with Tutsis, some with "black scary guns owners",
some with "Whites" ..

Fellow medics working in the same city doing the same job are making $21 an hour with no benefits. These same people are trying to raise a family being on call 10 days out of 14. These people are also required by their employer to own a vehicle and live in proximity to base. I do not call that substantial. They deserve as many breaks as we can give them. At our service, we have government benefits and pensions, issued body armour and slash gloves. Have high levels of de-escalation training and non-violent crisis training. We have significant training in suicide prevention and are part of a code white response team in hospital. The other service has none of this.

I personally do not need discounts to purchase body armour as my agency can get special pricing through many suppliers. However, I am here trying to stand up for these small services and agencies that need what we have but can not afford to do so. In fact, I believe any first responder that needs a certain level of protection to provide a service to the public should not have to pay for it out of their own pocket. I will not be using this discount for my own personal gain. I will be mentioning it to my fellow colleagues though.

Let me give you another chance here. Giving a discount to everyone is neither political nor apolitical. Giving a discount to your best best customers is also neither political nor apolitical. However, it makes great business sense for those who are in business for themselves.
 
#72 again, I do OK and to insinuate I'm somehow jealous of those who make more than me is just plain wrong. Independent income based on your own skills and attitude is everything I stand for. Never taken a hand out in my life and never will, God willing.

I'm responsible for me, I don't want or need anyones help, so far, old age might have something to say about that in the future.

No more reading this thread, I'm out of popcorn anyway. : )

They don't work security - they're redeployed clinicians and admins in most cases. We had 20+ bangers roll in last week, carrying their buddy who had just been given a new breathing hole. I've never seen a group of people so pale.

You obviously have a problem with first nations, posts of yours in this thread, the poaching thread, and others have painted a poor picture of that group. Nothing you have said in this thread has painted you as an upstanding person entitled to represent the RCMP.
