Increased Discounts for Law Enforcement and First Responders

I am not attacking AIT tactical solutions. Me made a marketing decision pricing is a marketing decision. It sends a message to the market. The message that he wanted to send was how much he cares about police and first responders that he is doubling their discount. Great guy wonderful except there are other messages coming from his marketing decision that are being received by his clientele that he probably does not want to be interpreted that way. Loads of them and some are particularly nasty things that people can easily infer from his marketing decision.

For example he could have simply stated that he was doubling discounts to first responders during this uncertain times. That might be fairly well received. My wife is a nurse and we have an outbreak of Covid-19 in the city and particularly affected is the hospital staff. Mcdonalds is giving a free coffee to the hospital workers as a token of their appreciation. That marketing decision is well received by the hospital workers and the community as a nice show of support in these trying times.

However this retailer decided to match the discount with an advertisement on body armour. One of the unintended messages probably I don't think he is that bad of a guy to think this but it can still be interpreted this way. I am offering a discount to the police for body armour so they can have easier access to protect themselves, but the rest of you well I do not care as much about your safety so you must pay full price.

Do I think he thinks this no not really. I think he just did not realize how this decision could go sideways so bad because he could not anticipate the likely reaction to his marketing.

A lot of folks expressed their insult and frustration, but could not express themselves why. I tried to inform him that this is the message that he is sending rather than take it as constructive critism. He doubles down. He keeps responding I am making a donation to CCFR legal fund so your concerns insult and frustration are irrelevant. Nobody is complaining about his support to CCFR. They are all complaining about this marketing decision. He might be able to make great pancakes to and may do hundreds of wonderful things in his community. We are only complaining about how your marketing decision is being interpreted.

A better strategy would be to say opps I tried my best to help people that needed help I did not mean to insult you guys, that certainly was not my intention. I value the lives of all my customers not just the police. Alternative you can lock the thread, maybe delete it or continue to defend your marketing decision that has offended many of your customers. I would have bought those plates it is a good price and I like that they are made in Canada. But I can not buy from a retailer that apparently does not value my life as much as others.

For someone that doesnt value this company you sure spent a lot of time on this dealer forum typing out these responses.

Thank you AIT for the wonderful discount and insuring i am a little safer. My wife and children also thank you!!!

I cannot fathom why people have a problem with this... seriously get your head together, police are not our enemy, I have yet to meet a single cop who supports the gun ban, every single one I know is against it.
They do not make the law... that bad laws are being passed does not mean they stop having to put their lives on the line. It is RIDICULOUS to think that a dealer offering a LEO discount means they value your life any less. Stop eating your own FFS, maybe focus that energy on winning elections, petitioning the city, provincial, and federal government, or something productive.

Thank you AIT for providing everyone with a great product, and cutting front line officers a break on the price.

Funny, the people complaining still haven't donated as much to CCFR as this company has.

Bingo, these are probably the people who go "Why should I donate to orgs, they dont do anything!"

Now is not the time to be petty and eat our own, some people still do not understand this for some reason.

So your giving further discounts to LEO who at this time is on board with prohibiting the product you sell, but zero for people that have supported your business for years? I guess that makes sense as pretty soon LEO will be your only customer
If a leo is using this discount then I am pretty sure they are not on board to prohibit the products they are selling

A significant portion of our firearms community are law enforcement. My local range would not exist without wildlife and law enforcement contracts. Most of our suppliers and distributors would not be in business. Regardless of how you personally feel about law enforcement, we need them. Any officer concerned about what type of body armour they are wearing is probably most likely a gun person and most likely against any government bans. We need as many on our side as possible.

This guy gets it.....

I too have spoken with many LEO's and they too shake their heads at the OIC and state the same "it won't do anything, just piss off a lot of people"

Let's not put a blanket over "first responders" over something the political paper pushers decided. The boots on the ground unfortunately have to hang on for the ride.

We are sorry to hear that you feel that we don’t value your life as much as others. We want to make it very clear that we care about and value the lives of all of you. We wouldn’t have gotten into the body armor business if we didn’t care about trying to put something out there that would protect people’s lives. One of the fundamental reasons we do what we do is to make armor accessible to everyone so that maybe one day someone can come home to their families when otherwise they wouldn’t have. Also we love interacting with all of you, whenever you guys come to our shop we always try to make sure that we deal with you one on one, and we treat you like we would our own buddies.

To your next point, in our first post we explicitly stated that we where giving the increased discount to police and first responders. Later on we also stated that we where also giving the discount to frontline medical personnel I think exactly in our response we directly listed nurses as being eligible for the discount. What we are trying to do is show appreciation for first responders, now when things are getting more dangerous for them, just like what McDonald’s is doing for your wife. We feel like they deserve appreciation now especially when so many people are turning their backs on them. The reason we haven’t backed down is that we see all first responders as people, people who have their positive and negative qualities, but people nonetheless. People who deserve to be as safe as possible when they have to head towards the danger as that is their job. We feel that it’s fair to treat them all as individuals rather than treat them all as one excommunicated group.

We thank you for being respectful and we take all your comments as constructive criticism. But in the same vein we also feel like we can express our reasoning behind our decisions and hopefully show some of you what our motivations are. We mention our donations to the ccfr as a rebuttal to people’s arguments that we don’t care about the firearms community. We do care. I personally am as frustrated and angry as anyone on this forum as I have lost thousands of dollars of my property and that has led to us donating so much of our sales. We are a small company and we could use that money to grow and bring new products to market but we felt strongly enough about this that we are doing the most we can to help the fight against this new threat to the firearms community. We are only saying this to show the truth to anyone who accuses us of not supporting the Canadian firearms community.

We will not lock or delete this thread. Everyone deserves to have their voices heard and we are sanguine about hearing your opinions on the actions that we take as a company. We are not trying to hide anything and we will do our best to keep all these threads up as long as possible as they are an archive of what we have done, and you all deserve that record. What we don’t want to see is you all being hostile to one another. We all care about the same things and have very similar values and it breaks our heart to see such vehemence and anger directed towards one another. We will let all of you say whatever you feel towards us but we will only take action when you attack each other.

We hope that this has clarified our stance and why we are doing what we are doing. We appreciate all the customers who have come to our defence but we also appreciate all of you who have voiced your opinion as to why you don’t agree with our actions. We value all of your opinions and we will continue to do our best to serve all of you to the best of our abilities.

And here we see the truth of the mentality of 'him'. ...... Obviously been to the Turdo 'evade the straight answer question' school of reply.

Just following orders!. Where have we heard that before?.

I dont know what rascals problem is he should calm down. We on CGN should be all in this together. However; officers are people too and entitled to their own beliefs after all. They still have a job to do as do you all.

I don't have a problem, just tired of his attitude. Like you say, we are all in this together. I am no different, I have recently prohibited guns in my locker now. I support CCFR, have donated to multiple lawsuits of this nonsense OIC. Just tired of all the cop bashing guys on this site that really don't have a clue.

We are all people and you should feel welcome here. I’m going to take a stab in the dark and assume that most if not all the cops on Canadian gun nutz are private gun owners and should be treated as such. Thank you for keeping it respectful for the most part despite your frustrations. We truly are all in this together and we won’t be able to get anything done if we’re at each other’s throats.

Also on a separate note we will be continuing this sale until Sunday. So if you want to take advantage Of the increased discounts let us know so we can write you up the discount codes.

Awesome, looking for lightweight ICW level IIIA panels , 8x10 roughly. I think my Aramid panels have expired. What do you suggest?
