Ashcroft, thank you. I'm not sure I have held anything like it either. Chamber length is the original 2 5/8 and the chokes are .048 and .048. There is a Purdey in the safe beside it...worth more money. I'll take the Daly every time. One thing the pics don't show is how it handles. Most of my 12s are between 6 pounds 7 oz and 6 pounds 12 oz. My Fox and my Remington are around 7 pounds 7 oz and I have a few lightweight 12s around 6 1/4. When I picked this gun up the first time, I guessed it was 6 pounds 12 oz. I was floored when I actually weighed it. Right on 7 1/2 pounds. Heaviest 12 I have.
I was speaking with Claudio today and he said he thinks he did a better job on this gun than any gun he has ever done.
Brian, it will be christened on wild birds this September at Delta. Hope to see you there. That guy was dead right....the gun, hand carved decoys and paper loads of bismuth!
You certainly turn up some beauties, Canvasback. I'm particularly in awe at this one, it looks like it just came out of the box.
Congrats James. Your Lindner looks spectacular.
Nice spank.
Those ribs are coming back what goes around comes around.
I really like the sight picture looking down the barrels of these old school guns. For some reason I just shoot them better and have much more confidence using them?!
Just out of curiosity, what does the porting do?
It's supposed to reduce muzzle jump and help reduce felt recoil in the process. Many say it does nothing but I find it works. It does however have one negative side effect in that it is loud for those standing next to you on the line.
Of course it gets completed in the Year of Covid!!! I was sure I would have GOY locked up with it. Damn social distancing.
Maybe we can host a virtual sxs shoot. One where I could win highest score with multiple perfect games....including a perfect game with a .410.
On another note, that is a beautiful Lindner you have. Cant wait to steal...I mean see it.
