Let's see some pic's of your SxS's & O/U's

Ashcroft, thank you. I'm not sure I have held anything like it either. Chamber length is the original 2 5/8 and the chokes are .048 and .048. There is a Purdey in the safe beside it...worth more money. I'll take the Daly every time. One thing the pics don't show is how it handles. Most of my 12s are between 6 pounds 7 oz and 6 pounds 12 oz. My Fox and my Remington are around 7 pounds 7 oz and I have a few lightweight 12s around 6 1/4. When I picked this gun up the first time, I guessed it was 6 pounds 12 oz. I was floored when I actually weighed it. Right on 7 1/2 pounds. Heaviest 12 I have.

I was speaking with Claudio today and he said he thinks he did a better job on this gun than any gun he has ever done.

Brian, it will be christened on wild birds this September at Delta. Hope to see you there. That guy was dead right....the gun, hand carved decoys and paper loads of bismuth!

I was tempted to make a steel shot joke in my last post but I see you have that handled.

Always, always, buy the gun, not the name. The weight of a really well made gun is very deceiving, balance trumps weight. The gun that comes alive in your hands and points like your finger always feels light. Example - attach a three pound weight to each end of a broom handle and swing it around. Now move those weights to the middle of the broomstick and swing it again. Same weight, totally different response.

You certainly turn up some beauties, Canvasback. I'm particularly in awe at this one, it looks like it just came out of the box.

BB, It sure didn't look that way when I bought it in Nov 2016. It's been with a gunsmith since January 2017. But it's been worth the wait. If one is going to embark on a project like this.....bringing it back from years of neglect and abuse....one needs to start with a gun that is worth the effort. This one certainly was.

Ok not a SxS but post what you have, right? Picked this up at a trap shoot this past weekend. Ithaca import early(1970) Perazzi Type 3 MX8. 32"bbls, both stamped 18.4mm bore, choke stamps indicate the chokes were full and extra full(by American standards) but have since been replaced by the original owner with Briley S54 thin walls(IC,LM,M,IM,F included). The wood is still original but the stock has had an adjustable comb and pachmayr decelerator pad installed. The barrels were also ported by Proport. For a 50 year old gun that was used up until the owner traded it last year on a new one its in good shape and was well serviced and maintained. The top lever sits well to right of centre so there is still lots of life left in the old girl, likely enough to see me through the rest of my trapshooting days especially with being relegated to a dedicated doubles gun. Had it been a blued model I may have passed on it even with the great price I got it for but that CCH receiver was my undoing!!

I really like the sight picture looking down the barrels of these old school guns. For some reason I just shoot them better and have much more confidence using them?!

Trap shooting of course is a what ever works sport, but as you know follows fads and makes lots of them too.

At a shoot Had a older fellow add a washer or make an adjustment I said how on earth did we used to shoot those old guns? He replies very well!

Of course it gets completed in the Year of Covid!!! I was sure I would have GOY locked up with it. Damn social distancing.

Maybe we can host a virtual sxs shoot. One where I could win highest score with multiple perfect games....including a perfect game with a .410.

On another note, that is a beautiful Lindner you have. Cant wait to steal...I mean see it.
