I've read a couple of reports where a variety of .22 ammo was put through a Win M52 with a record of accuracy. Cheap stuff, premium brands, whatever.
He even had selected loose bullet rds of each and shot them separately.
Some of the bulk cheap stuff gave best accuracy. The loose bullet rds shot the same as the tight bullet rds.
He said it was like wine. If you like it, drink it. Ignore what's on the label.

First range trip with a new to me Anschutz 1927F CISM. My official entry was shot with SK Long Range Match at 50 yards. Groups sizes are .221", .237", .276", .331", .227" with an average of .258". I screwed up on the first group and forgot to dial below the bull, that's why there's a different POI for the center group.

I brought a variety of ammo to try out. The conclusion I came to is that I probably can't shoot this rifle well enough to really compare ammunition types. Just as an example I shot another target at 50 yards with the 5 other kinds of ammo I had with me. This also completed the challenge although not quite as well as the Long Range Match, which could just be me shooting one target better than the other. This is easily the least picky rimfire rifle I've ever owned.

If it was on the internet, it must be true. Everyone knows the cheap bulk ammo gives the best accuracy in a good rifle.![]()
There have been more than a few articles in gun magazines on the topic over the years.
