Kodiak Defense 180NSR- A shame we never got it, or the turd that never was?

I’m new? You want to #### on the new guy, because he asked a stupid question? I can assure you, I pursued all the avenues available before I signed up for this forum to ask my question, only to be chirped by some douche bag with a baby #### ( it’s little , isn’t it , big man). TLDR, I want my rifle, hoped somebody had some information, because there’s #### all on line and nobody answers phones or email any more. Pew pew

Hey Lmac,
Try calling your supplier on Monday. I believe North Sylvia has just received a new shipment of 180's on Thursday this week. I know Kodiak is back ordered by over 1200 rifles and I don't know their production rate. Im not sure how many rifles are in this current shipment.
I certainly enjoy mine.

Don't worry about that guy, every post by him that I read seems like it would be better for him to have said nothing, either for the community's sake or his own.

Ohhhh,... you're new to CGN....

To answer your immediate questions, Tenda aint' as great as they used to be... and they were never really good at answering emails in a timely manner, that said, their shipping is generally faster than anyone else. Ive ordered from them a bunch of times since covid without issue.

Can't say much regarding the NSR.... there's a review on the forums and i think a youtube video. this looks like a rifle slapped together with leftovers quickly in the middle of covid knocking down the door.

Ive owned 2 of the latest gen Wk-180c and they are decent rifles for the price... but you are never sure what you are getting now... which barrel twist, if you will have metric or imperial fasteners or a mix of both... and the charging handle... is kind of a fail. That said, they work, and are reasonably accurate, and one of the only options left.

So you can't provide any details. It's almost like you're lying then making wild claims about someone working for a company the moment those claims are remotely questioned.

Instead of getting all defensive just give a little detail. If you're going to make negative statements about a company the onus is on you to provide justification for them and to prove them.
 
Otay Spanky. The onus is on any company to answer emails about products their customers preorder. It ain't rocket science. We need to hear from them, not you, so bow out.

Well yeah but Kodiak isn't the one taking pre-orders, it's the retailers. So no they wouldn't respond to a email about a pre-order when they have actual emails about things they can help with. It's the middle of a global pandemic with most workplaces being half staffed at best and an ongoing ban frenzy. So do they spend their time:

A: Responding to emails about things they are not doing?

or

B: Respond to actual product owners, and retailers?

Tough choice
 
Indeed, why would they condescend to answer queries? Especially when it's asking if they are making this model at all? We are no closer to getting an answer or those rifles. Brilliant marketing strategy at play. Don't bother responding. It's getting nauseating.
 
Even that was cryptic. "Delayed" and "indefinitely" is a mud soup. "We have stopped any develop of that model" (if that would be said) is clear. "We started production but due to staffing could not continue. Production is delayed. We will re-evaluate the situation in September." That would be clear. Hell, "We abandoned that model because the earlier one is selling fine enough" is clear. Refusing to reply to inquiries is rude. I think it's DOA.
 
I started a thread (to whine ) asking for an update or refund from Tenda , who wouldn't reply, and had removed the rifle from their website. I was searching for any kind of an update. Manufacturer , distributor and retailers didn't say anything for months.
That thread has been deleted. I never had a chance to look at the replies , but i'm sure it was a great read! This was Tendas reply:

"We noticed you posted on our forum in regards to your WK180NSR pre-order cancellation.
Due to the limited supply on the 1st shipment, we have taken the pre-order link away from our website since last week.
Please reply us with your order number, one of our customer rep will be contacting you today to process this for you."

The implication being that the 180NSR was produced, and there aren't enough to go around.

I sincerely hope that some people get this rifle in their hands and it works well.

I've learned a few valuable lessons about this industry and i'll approach how, and who, I buy firearms from differently moving forward. I also realised that despite my dealing with gun nuts in the "real world" being overwhelmingly positive- The internet is a ####hole no matter what. Even gun people , who are usually pretty awesome, are flapping douchebags online.
 
Maybe Kodiak is busy machining bolt handles..? Seems like all mine does is snap them despite going back twice. What a piss poor design. As much as I hate NS they seem to have a solution for that.
