Light SxS 20ga?

Give us some more info. Whats your price range? You looking for something newer with choke tubes, or an older gun that with fixed chokes? Do you have a preference for things like barrel length, pistol grip, POW or English stock?

How light? 5 pounds, 15 ounces AyA No. 2 sidelock, 26 inch barrels, English straight grip?
Choke tube guns tend to be heavier.

They are out there, you just have to decided what exactly you want and start looking. Depending on what you want to spend, a Huglu is probably the best/cheapest new one and the price goes north significantly after that.

the huglu weights a ton and have an even heavier trigger.
Avoid, might as well find an old spanish sxs it will be lighter and they can be found for way less

If you want new and cheap look for a churchill
or a yildiz

if you have a few thousands to spend options opens up. beretta (tad heavy), aya, grulla etc

my bet would be the yildiz, i believe they make a sub 6pound 20g sxs

Prophet river sells a nice brand from turkey. I used to have a 28guage from them and it was super nice for the 1250$ I paid. I can’t think of the brand though.

Oh wow. Wasn't expecting so many questions lol.

Not sure about price, somewhere around 1k I guess would be about right. As far as stock and chokes (and single or double trigger), hadn't really thought about all of that.

I just got a 12ga pump shotgun for slugs and turkey. Def not something I will want to carry around all day. Next year I might want to get myself something nicer, my main goal is to have something light! Around the 6lbs mark would be great.

Have to study for an exam this week, but as soon as this is over I'll check huglu's and yildiz's offerings!

Thanks

The huglus will come in at or below that in 28 g. The Yildiz lighter yet as they have an Al receiver.

Also look at the Churchill 520. Meets all the criteria you have mentioned and its very well made at the price point. I would argue that its the best quality economy new SxS coming out of Turkey. Excellent fit and finish, nice quality walnut, available in multiple stock configurations and only around 5lbs.

The triggers on my Huglu 202B sxs break at a crisp 5 lbs, that's not excessive for a shotgun. And weight is 5.5 lbs in 410 caliber so not heavy by any means. 20 gauge guns seem to be in the 6.75 to 7 lb range which is heavy enough in that type of gun but again, not excessive. I've only owned one 5 lb 20 g gun and the recoil was pretty stiff.

I must admit by that browsing the huglu website that the models seems to have improved. I stand corrected my comment was for the huglu equivalent of the CZ Bobwhites (same gun) of a few years ago. I had 2 and both where around 8 pound guns with 10lbs triggers.
