Wearing a mask this hunting season?

I am aware of the controversy surrounding wearing masks and don't really wish to get into the politics of that. Everyone's situation is not the same and it's not fair to overly judge. (especially considering potentially a large second wave this fall)

If one chooses to wear a mask around your hunting partners - say in the truck while driving back and forth or skinning and gutting an animal - is there a tasteful/cool camo one out there that would somewhat blend in with traditional camo hunting clothes?

Would anyone consider wearing one?

Interesting question......
When outside I wouldn't bother as the risk of exposure is very low as far as I have read, stay up wind!! Cooped up in a vehicle or a cabin is a much different story. I plan on doing mostly day hunts this year and will drive my own vehicle so that should eliminate most of the risk of exposure. Might do a backpack trip into the mountains and if I do I plan to have my own little tent to crash in for the night.

The people I hunt with are already in my bubble. Thus, no need to wear a mask. I will have a disposable one in the truck for if I need to run into any stores on my way.

I wear one to keep my face warm and camouflage myself, but I don't hunt in a party.

kinda depends what your goal is, a camo neck gaiter satisfies the laws but I have not seen any camo n95 masks if you were going for the function aspect.

I tend to wear an N95 mask when I'm out and about. I could I suppose camo up a regular white N95 with hobby paint. Not sure if that is counterproductive however.

I would advise against that, dye would be better but breathing in any of that stuff is bad. neck gaiter over n95 maybe? one of those mosquito hats with camo mesh?

No offense intended, but a ridiculous question in my opinion.

Answer: No. Absolutely not. I have never worn one anywhere, least of all in the outdoors.

Just imo, but any situation where you need a mask, is a good situation to not put yourself in in the first place.

If I thought there was a risk of getting covid, I sure as heck wouldn't be going for autumn tours crammed nutz deep in a truck full of dudes.

I had a guy on site the other day who was doing a homeowner walkthrough. He wanted to know how to open the HRV. It was hot as blazes and he was sweating like crazy. As he asked me the question, I kid you not, he was blowing spit/sweat/breath drops from his masked mouth.
I almost gagged. He was trying to talk but it was like he was waterboarding himself in the process. Like throwing your Tshirt into the pool, stretching it over your face and then blowing through it. Freakin gross.

How in the fek is that 'safe'??

Guys I hunt with are in the more vulnerable age group so I will respect their choices when in closer proximity (driving etc).
But out in the woods by myself? No.

I wear a mask because I like to take the path of least resistance. If a store requires it, I wear it. If the county:health unit requires it, I wear one...

... if the owner of the hunt camp wants me to, I’m gonna wear it. Not worth fighting over.

But everywhere else, no thank you.
