red dot plate for MP 2.0

ya, that looks about it, so I can replace the rear sight with a red dot
I’ve been looking for one for the wife and the only one I have found is the Meprolight system. It is a rear sight that comes with a quick detach Meprolight red dot, so it’s not a system that allows different red dots.
It looks like a pretty cool system and the price is ok for what you get, a fibre optic sight system and a red dot. I believe Wolverine Supply carry them if you want to have a look

Not true, Meprolight makes the adapter only version that you can mount most popular RDS.

Having a proper setup is priceless.
^^^ It’s definitely something to consider.

I recently had the slide milled on my Shadow with a deep cut to allow the dot to sit low. Going back and forth between my iron sighted Shadow and the dot version, is effortless. People who try the dot are amazed at the much higher accuracy compared to how they shoot with irons. They all think it’s money well spent.

Well you could buy the gun with the factory mill, But I am think you have to use a plate any why? I have not seen one in person, say a video
By the time you put a plate on , your red dot is back to too high.
There is one on the EE right know, That I see and don't need, wish some one would buy it
I will add that for bull eye shooting it don't help me much, but for speed and fun , it is great/
I am thinking about a mount for one of my revolvers, have a scope and mount, but the red dot is so much smaller.

Check freedom ventures , they list a EGW dovetail mount for the smith M&P.
I have the same type of the system on a 1911 with a burras plate, works good
But I thought we where talking cut slides to mount ?
Here is a picture, this is the type of mount mtlcruisin listed in his link, take the back sight out, insert a dovetail and screw the plat to that, tan screw the mount to the plate.
Quick and easy.

Thanks for the heads up on that, I’m running the same type of mount on a G34( a loaner from a buddy to try out) and I like it, seems to work fine. It’s not an MOS by any means but I’m not sure I want to permanently change my gun. It’s a cheaper way for the wife to try a rds on her M&P

Who milled your Shadow’s slide? Thanks.

jimbo14, which Shadow did you have milled? I have the Sp-01 Shadow with a dovetail mounting plate and find it too high.

His name come up on another post about this, sounds like the guy to go to.
I have one I am thinking about , a Jericho, but not sure the cost warrants it on that one yet, barrel is poor.
Slavex and others referred me to him.

SP-01 Shadow. Pics are in another thread somewhere, with details, since the slide is narrower than the optic I used. Search my posts around mid-Aug.

If you get him to make you a plate, send your optic to be sure everything fits. You don't want any surprises if you have to mail things. He'll make sure things fit, and you can put your slide back on and shoot.

Could the slide be milled and the sight mounted direct on the cut without a plate, it would be way lower, but the holes would have to be drilled perfect and a couple pins installed I would think.Would need the proper plate for a pattern ,I would think, could get costly, if only I had a mill? But you would have to stick with that brand of sight.
