Got a ZG-47 shroud coming to complete my rifle. Searched high and low for one.

Maynards auction?
Where is that?

Google is your buddy ;)
They are not a site supporter or I would have linked them.
The offerings are way low designed to generate lots of interest in these interesting times.
More items are new, but lots are from previous auctions that didnt sell from when they had one or two alleged controversial items listed for sale.

Now I need somebody that has the tools and know-how to convert a standard M98 firing pin to work with a ZG47 shroud/safety. Should be fun. Lol

When it rains it pours! Thanks to the kindness of member Brno284, I now have three (3) ZG47 firing pins. One (1) SUPER hard to find factory original and 2 custom-made pins using two NOS M98 pins that I had on hand. I think I'm good for life!! Now, all I have to do is see if the new shroud and pins will work with the factory DST and factory cocking piece. I also have a spare (Zastava) commercial cocking piece to try. I love this rifle but I am several thousand into it. Thankfully, it's outfitted to my needs and ready for life.

Good to hear you got the parts you needed.
I was not aware you could fit a ZG-47 shroud until reading this thread. Perhaps I missed it in a previous post - did you require a ZG-47 trigger group?
Would love to see pics of the completed rifle.
Cheers,
Rob

I may need a ZG-47 trigger group. I have not yet fitted the new pin and shroud to my bolt body to try with my factory Brno 21 double-set triggers (DST). I love the DST and hope it all works out.

... and the learning journey continues. It appears that the cocking piece is also different, but I'm not sure how. I will search around for a photo of a ZG-47 cocking piece. It takes a M98 cocking piece, but the safety does not function/move.

Simple enough, you will need to machine a 98/21 cocking piece with the same cut-out as the ZG47 cocking piece...and you will need to machine the half moon cut in the back of the model 21 bolt so that the safety clears the bolt like it does in the ZG47.

If desperate you could simply dremel the cut on the back of the bolt, but I wouldn't do either 'til you have a ZG47 bolt in your hand to compare and see where the cuts go.

Thanks. A good member sent me a spare ZG-47 cocking piece. And, yes, I also just learned about the relief cut on the bolt. I am on the fence about altering the 21 bolt.

Don't bother using the ZG47 cocking piece, just machine either a 98 or 21, that way you still get to use the original double trigger...unless you are going to use a trigger with an angled sear such as a Sako, in which case utilise the 47 cocking piece.

You are absolutely correct. The ZG-47 cocking piece is a few mm shorter (as is the ZG-47 firing pin). I had a gunsmith alter a standard M98 cocking piece, along with a standard M98 firing pin, and the bolt now works with the Brno 21 factory DST.
