Any scrapes,or rubs in your area?

None at the hunt camp that I saw today.........:(

Although as senior can tell you, there need to be deer actually present to make rubs and scrapes.:p

I did shoot a nice ruffed grouse and just (BURP) ate him for supper.........

Ooo...there's deer present at our camp, they eat about 10 bushels of apples a day :runaway:
One way to make shooting a running deer easier,
make him so friggin over-weight.....:p

Just got back from a scouting mission to my hunting area in Lanark Highlands (WMU 63a). Saw 3 does & 10 turkeys. There were a few half hearted scrapes but nothing major yet. IMHO the rut hasn't started in earnest in the Highlands. I did see a nice buck about 3 weeks ago, but didn't see him again this time. Best of luck to everyone.

Saw several smallish scrapes in the "Greenbelt" in Ottawa Ontario this am. They are smaller than what I would expect, but with all the deer tracks nearby I have no doubt that this is what they are. There were 3 in a row about 10 feet apart.

Your sure it wasn't the two little "Dears" in the picture. ;)

I was out at my spot in 63B and saw lots of deer, but didn't see any scrapes or rubs. Doesn't mean they aren't there of course.

Rut rut ruuuut

Hi,

Well, they are starting to be in the rut around here, seen some rubs and scrapes on the weekend. We hunted 1 of them (scrape) and a nice 5 pointer had his nose on it sunday at 4.00pm. We took him at 70fts.

Going back tomorrow with my daughter (11) as she want to be with me to find more signs, still have a doe tag so shouldn't be too hard. Will sit at the power line where the hard wood meets the shrub line.

Rut is getting stronger and stronger.

Good luck to all.
