1 month? For "stock item"
Norinco isn't going to keep running a factory that turns out maybe 1000 old 1980's era rifles a year, when they can retool it to make more modern firearms which sell more, for more money and being a part of modernizing the PRC armed forces.
The profit isn't there for Norinco unless a government/police/military force orders 10,000 type 81's but why not just order 10,000 type 56's with more aftermarket product compatibility with AK variants, or even just order 10,000 Norinco CQA rifles.
It would be asking why doesn't Norinco still make SKS rifles, the profit isn't there.
Mine's in town and I get it today ....yay!!
Yup that's right. An AK is half the cost of a T81, so most of their export sales are AK's. We were told that with there no longer being internal demand for T81 they were planning on shutting down production line to make way for more modern stuff. However we were told just a few days ago that this shutdown might be put on hold as they got a large foreign military order. Apparently while the Chinese government might be done with Type 81, there is still occasional demand from other foreign militaries that still use T81 and need new stock to either maintain or expand existing armouries. The good news is this means we could be looking at regular series production T81's in late 2021/2022 again. Not all older products were that lucky, apparently the Type 03 tooling was completely dismantled and gone forever now.
A lot of them are showing up on EE now.. I guess EE price will go down for them now, especially for the blued ones..

So many posted now. Today alone 5 were posted. They will always carry a premium over what we bought them for but nothing crazy. In all honesty, the only thing that would drag the price of them down would be winning the court challenge or installing a conservative government. Even then, there was still little selection for an rpk esque rifle. You had a few valmets and thats it. So the lmg will command a premium for some time to come. But if the vz58 ever returns, the regular type 81 will plummet in value. My $0.02
You must have just missed TI's last post. There maybe another production run in late 2021/2022 as apparently a foreign military is ordering a bunch of standard Type 81's and TI might be able to piggy back off that order.
