Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 or Winchester SXP combo, should do everything for you.
You can spend more, buy a gun for more specific applications, but the above will do it all.
You can spend less and enter the realm of uncertain quality.

My do it all shotgun is a 12g 870 with a 20” rifle sighted turkey barrel that’s factory threaded for chokes, hands down the most versatile of all my shotguns.

It's hard to argue against an 870, right? Easily hands down the most practical option. Simple process to swap a wide range of barrel configurations from 12.5" - 30" that will cover you for all of your expected needs.

You can't do that with the Mossberg 500/590 line-up.

For an affordable do-it-all shotgun, one could do a lot worse than this:

It really is, I like the Mossberg’s I’ve handled but I prefer the 870 for all the factory and aftermarket options. Endless choices and easy to get ahold of, they work everytime.

My 2 cents: Mossberg 500 is lighter and can shoot minishells with adapter. Rem 870 is heavier weight but stronger steel receiver and aftermarket barrels are way cheaper. Was a at gunsmith yesterday and he said 870 was the way to go. I have a Mossberg.

Grizzly’s are great, if you want to shed some weight swap out the boat anchor of a stock set with a Remington 870 set. Dlask usually has new take off sets fo cheap, the rem synthetic set will lighten it up by about a pound.

Beretta 1301 Comp in either a 21 inch or 24 inch barrel. If your looking for more Tac, look at the 1301 Tactical.

I have a mossberg 500, had a Mexican mossberg (Maverick 88) before that. Switched to the 500 because I shoot left now and the tang safety is better for that. I also prefer the location of the slide release button on the mossberg compared to the Rem 870.

The Rem 870 is great if you want to spend money on after market stuff. If you just want a gun that works then a mossberg gets my vote. There is aftermarket stuff for the mossberg, but it's not as plentiful or cheap. I bought a 2 barrel combo so I've got a 28" barrel w/chokes and a 18" cylinder bore barrel as well. They also sell 2 and 3 barrel sets that come with a 28" barrel w/chokes and either a turkey or rifled barrel (or both). I wanted a 3 barrel set w/turkey and rifled barrels but I couldn't justify the extra cost for things I'll rarely if ever use.
