Only one better would
Be a take down version
Love 4750. I use it the most in a marlin and baikal sxs
Could try 410 21/2#6 and see what patern is for chicks

I didn’t know scopes with a longer eye relief were known as scout scopes. Thanks for that, I’ve been searching scopes made for handguns without much success. Now I found tons, I’m leaning towards a Vortex Crossfire 2 Scout 2x7x32.

If you haven’t before, look through a scout scope before buying one.

Similar to red dots with astigmatism they can appear very blurry or you see double lines for some people.

When the SBL came out, I thought it was the stupidest thing I had ever seen. A stainless levergun?...and with a laminated stock???

Naturally, when the chance came to pick one up at an excellent price...a JM-stamped early one, used but just barely...I snapped it up, planning to shoot it for a few months and then make money selling it. That was over 10 years ago...I still have it and have no intention of selling it. I love this gun.

Easy to mount a regular scope or a scout scope, or better yet have both in QD rings, ready to swap as you see fit...or to remove completely to use the terrific iron sights.

Trailboss makes for a nice plinking load with lead bullets. Shoot it all day long. I replaced the safety with a stainless saddle ring

My most shot rifle I own,for plinking at the range I make up some easy shooting rounds with hornady 300 grain soft points and h322 ,makes for a lot of fun .I have killed a couple deer with it and both were in thick brush with the ghost ring sights,no scope.

I've since added a scope and sighted it in with the 300 grain federal lever gun ammo, gonna see just how well it does in November lol

I haven’t, thanks to all for sharing your experience and input. Going to hold tight until I figure out what is best for this firearm and myself.

I bought a GBL model last summer and I found with my post-cataract surgery eyes I couldn't make out the buckhorn sights well enough. I added a rail but didn't care for how the cheek weld changed. So, I sold it and picked up this one. It's got a Skinner peep sight on it while makes it surprisingly accurate. It's got some kick, but it's great fun to shoot.

One more thing I should add,if you really like the rifle now,do yourself a favor and get the Wild West guns trigger happy kit,a bear proof ejector, and the aluminum magazine follower, after these parts are installed it becomes a whole other beast!my groups instantly shrank at100 yards just with the trigger kit.makes a very nice ,crisp trigger and also makes the gun that much more quiet without the factory trigger slopping around on you.
