300 win mag bullet choice for moose

180 Hornady Interlock flat base is all you need, and they are accurate. Those almost 2 dollar a pop so called premiums are a waist of money.

I have 180gr NPs for my 300magnum.

Shot a coyote at 50 yards with the 300 wby and 180 interlocks. The far side of the coyote was gone. At just shy of 3300 they might be a bit soft?

I shoot 180g corelokts out of my Tikka .300wm and they work great. Only two moose I've shot with it only went 15 yards double lunged from 1 shot. 375 yards and 15 yard shots. Bullet exited both times, I have no need to try anything different.

Nosler Trophy Grade 300 Win Mag 200GR Partition, Put the power down!

Barton's Big Country is showing 17 boxes, not cheap, but great factory ammo.

And you can buy them pretty well anywhere...

I agree. The interlocks are great bullets.

I have never had an issue with Interlocks, and have never recovered one. I mainly use the flat base version and go with the heavier option in whatever caliber I am loading for, from .222 to .458 W.M. For every bullet I use on game I shoot many hundreds on the range, and the idea of using super expensive so called premiums for paper seems silly. lots of guys use Barnes or some other bonded wonder bullet, but in my experience this is buying into a lot of marketing B.S. and is simply not necessary, but if that is what one wants to do that is fine, just freedom of choice, and may make sense for some, but for the volume and range of calibers I shoot Interlocks have performed 100% perfect and are very hunting accurate.

My vote goes to accubonds (in 300 win mag, 180gr). Shot a moose off-hand at 60-70 yards...took 2 steps and folded. The lungs were liquified. Exceptionnal performance

It was the first year I used them, but won't be my last...

The only moose I ever shot with a 300 WM, I had used a 180 grain Accubond.

Zero complaints, but sample size of 1. Found the bullet after passing through a significant amount of moose and it was nicely mushroomed.

My best hunting bud and I have folded up a few with 180 grain Ballistic Tips and 165 SST as well, but these are at 30-06 velocity. Not sure how well they would work at 300 WM speed.

These days I have taken quite a shining to the Federal Trophy Bonded Tip, when they can be found (replaced by the goofy named "terminal ascent" et al) as I believe they offer the best of both worlds between a lead cored bullet and a mono. Small amount of lead up front, solid copper rear shank. High weight retention coupled with fast, violent opening.
