So loading for mag length I did some test at 100 yards with 180 Sc II's and 190 LRAB.

Although it doesn't look like the rifle likes either bullet all that much, there may be some hope on the horizon.

I did do one 3 shot group at 3.550" with 76gr and the LRAB just to see if there was a big difference.

Again, I don't have a lot of faith in my chronograph but it is what it is and the paper tells the tale.

Here we go:

The 180 SC II's.

190 LRAB.

There won't be any more velocity or attempts at larger loads as with these bullets seated to these depths your case capacity is greatly diminished , regardless of how you get the powder into the case.

I may attempt another test with both bullets and H1000 at 3.550" to try gain some velocity and cases capacity to get some speed more conducive to a 300WM.

The ones loaded at mag length are just about 3/8" jump.

Note - There was a rather stout cross wind.

That A7 is a big step up from that Vanguard 2. Good for you

You don't mention barrel length.

As far as more velocity, do you need more for the hunting you're doing or just want more???

For the intended purpose of said rifle under particular parameters more velocity would be somewhat beneficial. That being said, a 190 LRAB even at modest velocities will have a very detrimental effect on critters out beyond my capabilities.

24" barrel.

I would also say their claim to 5 shot MOA accuracy is likely factual.

I have had good luck with Ramshot Magnum powder. 190gr ABLR Start at 77 probably end up around 85grs. 3150fps.

Once I have burned up the ABLR's I am definitely switching bullets. Tried the 142gr in 6.5 the 190gr 30cal. Neither shot well.

Might go to Barnes

I'll never get 85 grains in, I'm compressed already with 77 of H1000.

Might have to go 165 or 150grain if I want any performance here, mag length and feed ramp are very restrictive.

Can go single feed but the ejection port is too short if unloading a live round , have to remove bolt(which isn't a huge deal) to ejected a live round.

Or, just live with .308 performance. :)

RL16 and a 165gr Accubond, try it

H1000 better suited to heavier bullets, seated out to 3.5" OAL and not far off the lands.
