I was looking for a new recoil spring for my m2000 semi auto shotgun. Called Western Gun Parts but they didn't have any so they gave me the number to Stoeger. Called them and they are sending one to me free of charge. Can't beat that! :)

Super7, please report back to us after you have actually received the spring. I have received nothing but excuses from Stoeger Canada. If they are actually attempting to provide customer service these days, I would be happy to hear about it.

I had a similar experience as well!

They might do OK, by supplying the odd part, but they do not have anyone who specializes in repairing their product and send it out to the first smith who is not busy. You know how good a readily available smith must be? I have seen lots of their product returned in the same state it was sent. Not working!

Sent my shotgun in for repair almost 2 months ago. I phoned for an update a week ago, left a message have not had a return phone call as of yet.

My problem was similar. I eventualy spoke to the same person who I talked to before sending my T3. He was not sure that he had rec'd the gun and then later he was not sure where he sent it, this all after he asked to have it sent for his attention. After making several calls, the gun arrived at the post office. My original covering letter was included along with a repair tag. The only notation on the tag was that when they rec'd the gun it had a scratch on it. No mention what repair was done if any. After several calls to this same person, he was unable to tell me where it was sent and what if anything they did to repair the problem. The fellow I spoke to was refered to me by the dealer where I bought the gun and claimed to be in charge of all warranty repair. If anyone wants his name I will be happy to give supply it by PM.

I like Stoeger products like the Berettas, Tikka and Sako, but their after sales is the ####s.

I had a nightmare dealing with the Stoeger people, it wasn't until I actually talked to the head fella did I get some help. I sent a gun back on warranty, it took forever to get it back, extremely poor communication between the warehouse people, the gunsmith that does their work (they send it out) and the customer. When I got the gun back, it didn't fire as they replaced the firing pin which didn't need replacing, and ended up installing a firing pin that was too short, didn't work. Then I called back and got head ache finally they made a deal with the dealer I bought from saying if he would refund me money for the gun, they would take it back and give him a new gun to replace it or refund him. If you are dealing with Peter in the warehouse, forget it, the guy is an idiot. Deal with Brent. If you are not satisfied, contact the manager for Stoeger Canada directly. His name is John Mock, 905-436-9077 or jmock@stoegercanada.ca or

Don't expect any customer service, chase them down, document every contact and fire your complaints directly to John. Make sure you get the name of any/everyone you talk to there.

I'd say receiving a part is more likely to happen in a timely manner than if you ship the gun to them. I would call every 4-5 days asking for an update. If you go more than a week to ten days, call John directly and deal with him, especially if the part is in stock.

Hmm... this is all enlightening. I've been to the place where Stoeger sends its warranty work MANy times and I know all the people that fix the guns. This is how it works.

Every week, a number of boxed guns arrive for repair. Stoeger also ahndles all the Canadian repairs for Beretta and Uberti. the boxes are emptied ,the guns fixed, and they are all shipped back to the Whitby offices within one week or less, unless Stoeger Canada needs obscure or unstocked parts shipped in from Italy which significantly lengthens repair times.

I can't comment on how long guns sit around in whitby before or after being repaired in Ottawa, but I know VERY first hand how the repairs are done and I find it difficult to believe this is the weak link.

My beef is with one of the idiots at the warehouse who doesn't know where my gun is or what it's status is. I am sure for the most part, the gunsmith that does their work is fine, although he did replace my perfectly fine firing pin with one that was too short and wouldn't fire.....

Stoeger customer service sucks!! I'm still waiting for a shotgun part I ordered over a year ago. At first they said it was in stock and they were going to send it out to me. Then I get an email that they are suddenly out of stock and have to order another from Italy. They estimated a wait of 2 months, then 3 months, then 6 months. They were not prompt with returning emails or phone calls. I had to call in each time to get a response from them. When I did get a hold of the warranty person, he wasn't very eager to help me get my gun back into the field. I won't ever buy another gun from Stoeger again.

Just got the spring in the mail. Thank you Stoeger!

Super7, I am very pleased to see that you have received prompt service from Stoeger. As you can see from this thread, there are many who have not. Let's hope that they have seen the light and are striving to rebuild their reputation. Have fun with your gun!

Maybe some guns go ot this place, but not all. The fellow I dealt with said my T-3 was sent out and that they used available smiths in the area and he could not locate mine and and after all was said and done, he never was able or willing to tell me what work was done, and a matter of fact he seemed to be surprised that I had received my gun back in the mail. He was either not willing or did not know what work was done. This bozo also told me that they really did not have to do anything with my T-3 because when I told him I had been using handloads he said that would void the warranty. My problem had nothing to do with the loads and when the gun returned I made sure that I tested with with factory loads.
