Slow boat from China docks in November?

I Hate to bash our own, not enough of us and hard enough to make a living, but could not agree more, have two guns on order, April 07, June 07, cheek piece for AIA (Oct, 06) never received, changed one gun from one in stock item to another in stock item, no show, no nothing, carrot gone bad, and just give up and move on, no longer even visit the website, no point.

Sorry bashing, but frustration as well, good luck on your M14’s .:(

x2!! I too have grown old waiting for the "next shipment" that never comes.

Seeing as you brought it up..... After some horrible service, a general shafting on freight and still waiting on my credit form 2 months ago (re: overcharged for items NOT recieved: Frank at the order desk says he "keeps forgetting to do it" ) Marstar is not even a consideration for me. Johnone pm'ed me for details. I sent them. He said he never got them and would like an e-mail instead. He contacted me on yet another issue a little while ago and his reply to my question about the first issue was along the lines of "not really sure what your talking about. Never got any e-mails or pm's. Send me the details..." yada yada yada. So there you have it. I'll buy elsewhere. My experience from dealing with Marstar is that their prices equal their service. I'm willing to pay more somewhere else and at least be treated better.
If you're serious about getting a good M14 right now, tuned, cleaned, headspaced and ready to go then HWSNBN is definately the way to go.

Regards,

Didn't John already say that there won't be a price increase on their M-305s?

glad to hear that .

and im not trying to give john an ideas :D but wasnt that what we were expecting from the latest shipment of SKS but instead we saw a price hike as high as $225 (from $149 last year) and every SKS that was priced under $200 was sold out in a week.

I've always had good sevice and no screw ups dealing with marstar. BUT I remember several years back when thier service was exemplary.... seems this may no longer be the case. The guy they used to have in thier pistol parts dept ALWAYS went the extra mile for me when i was looking for bits and pieces... these days.... I can't even get an email response... I've sent 3 in the past month.... regarding products that show "in stock now" on the website. I'd love to order a bunch of thier m14s accessories (1100.00 bucks worth) but i'm not going to cut them a cheque and mail it in hopes it all goes well.... i want confirmation that the item is sitting aside, with my name on it, awaiting payment.

If you are looking for a m14s and are tired of waiting....... I know what i'd do.... oh ya.... my new rifle is sitting here... from roger at dark... I think i'll order two more before the masses get smart and stop waiting for the slow boat.

Johnone will no doubt be visiting this thread... I mean no offense, marstar has brought in a lot of cool stuff for us canadian shooters... and i greatly appreciate that... but.... this norc rifle thing and the customer service as of late....... some changes are in order me thinks.

Well I don't know what's going on with some. However, John always answers my emails, normally within 24 business hours. He's even emailed me on a Sunday. I've never had a problem with items, because they always call to confirm the order before telling me what they are going to charge my credit card. Non restricted and parts? I email John to confirm stock, he says yes, I email the form, he replies "Thanks for the order". About a week later, shipping calls to confirm, tells me the price, and it's in my mail box a few days later. Restricted stuff gets hung up a bit with CFC and CFO, but from order to standing on the range, the last pistol was about 3-1/2 weeks.

About the only time I didn't get a response to something I sent into Marstar was the time they offered a job on here, and I sent in a resume...with the caveat at the end that I still had 7 years in the CF before I'd be retiring....

I had lunch with Johnone in the summer of 06, and he still remembered that Resume....they were quite excited....up 'til the end when they got that little surprise. :)

Additionally, when my NP-34 cracked a slide rail, they replaced the pistol as soon as they got their next shipment in. 100% satisfied, and waiting for them to open up a Halifax office...

Tired of waiting

I've been on the Marstar wait list since Feb. I gave up today and ordered one from Dark. I also called Boyd's and ordered a Walnut stock.

X 2. Been shooting it for 3 weeks now. I think I'll still get another when Marstar's come in, tho.

RD ELLIOT;
Just to be clear, we flew in several tons of Norinco pistols because we were so far behind on deliveries....

We have three containers of 305s on the way in, 1st container in port, expecte here shortly....
Second and thrid ones should be about 4 weeks apart.

John

VOODOOMAN;
Let's be clear on the PRICING ISSUE....
We said a long time ago that we would NOT increase our prices on these shipments of Norincos.

THE M-305 rifles remain at $399.
Each rifle comes with 2x5rds mags 1x5/20rds mag
Cleaning kit and sling.

I can assure you that when we get e mail we reply,
I have mentioned this issue MANY times before, there are IPs out there which block traffice that mentions the G word..

Both myself as well as many members here have also mentioned that if you do not receive a reply to your e mail, pick up the phone and call, IT'S A FREE CALL....

As for your statement "i want confirmation that the item is sitting aside, with my name on it, awaiting payment"
I'm afraid that that is not possible, our past experience has been very negative in this area....
I agree we used to do this for people, pick the parts from stock, package, send to invoicing, put order in shipping "pending payment" many parcels would sit for months despite the fact that the funds were in the mail....
Once an order is not shipped we must unpack and re-enter into inventory, at that point we have incurred costs twice without results.

SINCE you seem to blame us for "M-305 rifle thing" I would greatly appreciate your suggestions on resolving the problems we have experienced in the past year in China. Remember we do not order small lots, we are involved with many companies and government agencies....

I look forward to your solutions:
Two different companies were late with components for the rifles.
Marstar rifles were being assembled from new parts.

This caused permits to lapse....
We rescheduled for fumigation certification
We applied for new inland transit permits
New military escort permits
New export permits.
New transit permits through Hong Kong
New negotiatiations and bookings for sea container shipments
By then our IICs had lapsed, filed for new ones....
John

Thanks John for letting us know there is progress on the shipment. It must be really frustrating as a business owner to run into so many delays and red tape. Its hard to make a buck selling a product you don't have in stock.

How's the long term outlook for m-305 availability?

Is this to say, some of the *other norincos being sold might use surplus/used parts??

Not a knock against other dealers.
But that would be a bonus for the *wait for a Marstar M-305 :p

can't argue with that response ... can I

to the folks at Marstar.... I've worked and managed retail for many years until recently and handled personally ALL internet sales... I understand the hassles of late delivery, the confusion of maintaining emails and on and on.
I was not trying to spread ill will towards marstar but you do have email as a means of contact and my I.P does not block the "G" word. Some of us do not have the ability to call due to work schedules and time zone differences, so email is the logical choice. I use this means to contact many businesses and 99% of the time i get a response.

As a side note everytime i have purchased from marstar I have been exceptionally pleased with both product and service at the end of the transaction. I will continue to source items through marstar as well.
This whole m14s (m305) wait thing has gotten a lot of us scrambling to get our mitts on what is out there and with BILLC10A looming..... maybe a bit of panic has set in.

my comments were not made to insult or degrade the integrity of Marstar.... but they did envoke a response.... and for that response.... thankyou sir for clearing up this issue and it's good to see that your product has finally made it to our shores.

I highly doubt any new in stock m14s rifles are being sold by other dealers made up from used parts..... the rifle i purchased a month ago is a new parts rifle... and i would bet that this is the case for ALL of these rifles on sale at dealers right now.
