Who’s a “good” 1911 gunsmith in Canada?
One of the best is Paul Barrette at ReddNobb.
+1 For out of the box, I'd go with STI. Not a ton experience here, but the one I own & the ones I've to play with over the years were of excellent quality & hold there value pretty well.
STI no longer manufactures 1911s. Used or old stock - that’s all there is.
Staccato is STI.
And the Staccato R is pretty much a 1911.
2011 =/= 1911
I’m looking for suggestions for a full size 1911 in 9mm. I had my mind set on a Staccato R but it looks like they’ve discontinued it, so I’m back to the drawing board and open to suggestions. It needs to be IPSC Classic division legal, and I’d prefer a ready to go complete pistol rather than piecing something together with a patch work of upgrades. Price range between $2500-$3000ish.
Colt Combat Commander in 9mm (Model O4942XE). Blued steel frame and slide, 4.25" barrel, custom G10 grips, absolutely beautiful! Colt just started restocking these in the USA, check it out!!!
