Ruger expects to re-introduce Marlin rifles in 2021

Because this is CanadianGunNutz, not CanadianGunNormies. Everyone who is inclined to spend 20 years posting on an internet forum about guns wants something quirky and offbeat, not just "I SuRE hOpE ThEy mAKe a tHIrTy-ThirTy cArBInE!"

Oh I agree. But realism is nice. Not digging something out of cartridges of the world that hasnt been made commercially for 100 years.

Why is it that ever time something like this is discussed, guys will always suggest oddball, obsolete cartridges that would never sell.
How bouts just make something I don't need to send for warranty work. Let's try that first.

Because we GunNutz (myself included) like to demonstrate how cool we are to other Nutters by mentioning and/or using obscure chamberings that no-one else either knows about or uses, none of which will be mass sellers or money makers for Ruger.

We be cool nonetheless for even mentioning them. :)

Also would be nice to see Ruger expand the 336 caliber line with some exclusives.

Maybe Ruger could do the same thing Remington did with the Classic line of M700s. A different odd ball chambering every year and only for that year.

Got an old ;) 'obscure' calibre/chambering in an OLD Winchester high wall, a 219 Donaldson Wasp. I'm HAPPY with it as is and am not looking for it to be chambered in a new Ruger effort. Also has a matching vintage appropriate scope to top things off. A 10X J.UNERTl. PM with photo and target scans on the way:).

Wow, things may be looking up. I think if they came out with a classic range of 30/30 and 35 Rem rifles they would sell pretty quick. Then perhaps they could go to work on the likes of the 336ER in perhaps .358 Winchester, 338 Marlin Express in stainless/laminate, stainless/walnut, and good old deep blue and walnut, all with traditional cut checkering and hammer forged barrels with Ballard rifling, and who knows, perhaps they’ll actually finish the parts instead of just CNC and cold stampings with the rough edges. Hmmm, Ruger investment casting techniques + Marlin design = perfection??? A guy can dream... lol.

If they bring back the Mod 39, they should do it with a shorter barrel option. I wouldn't be surprised if Ruger introduced something new just because.... a nice simple take down option for their Lever offerings would be trendy.

After all the fuss Marlin always made about its "forged" receivers, I find it hard to imagine Marlins made using Ruger's lost wax casting technology.

I’m a Ruger fanboy. I have never had an issue with any Ruger firearm.

The only thing that has stopped me from buying another Marlin lever gun is the quality control that Remington was experiencing in the early 2000s. I had first hand experience with three 336 rifles that ended with Epps refunding me my money. The first rifle couldn’t even chamber one 30-30 round.

I have no doubt that Ruger will figure out a way to make it work. I will be standing in line to buy one.

Oh wow .. I guess I’m out of the loop . Lol .
Heard things weren’t looking good for them a while back .. but haven’t been on here much or paid much attention so I guess I missed that.
That’s a shame .. . I’m glad to hear marlin was saved at least.

Ruglin's or Muggers? What is the new name going to be? I really hope Ruger brings Marlin back to it's old glory. Couldn't be a better company to do it!!! Ruger #1's then Marlin's. I hope Ruger hires some of the OLD Marlin craftsman and women.

I am amazed of how little interest there appears to be in the 45 Colt. I picked up a Rossi 92 in 45 Colt a few years back and what a great gun. I have my 250 grain Hornady handholds coming out at almost 1800 fps giving well over 1700fp of energy. This is still below pressure for the 92 action but definitely plenty in the recoil department in such a light gun. I'd like to see them put out a 16 inch barrelled gun in 460 S&W, stainless, wood, with a decent butt pad;)
