WK180C Owners Thread

Might be a silly question, but can I use ar15 extractor on the bolt? Both look pretty similar to me. Haha...

As far as I am aware you can, I had to salvage the extractor pin off my AR-15 paperweight to replace the Kodiak one that keeps walking out and breaking. While I had both of the extractors out and I examined them, they look to be identical so I would say go for it. I believe the manual also states that it is an AR-15 extractor.

Thanks brother!!!

Overall is everyone happy with their firearms. Looking at getting one.
Thanks
Steve

I’d say I’m happy... yes. If you expect to replace and upgrade a few parts, which can be fun and rewarding in itself. Then it’s a great gun. It shares a lot of components with the AR15 platform making it very upgradable and customizable. If you want a gun you never have to strip down and trouble-shoot or repair, then this maybe not the best choice.

Put everything back together again after I received the bolt, except for two hand guard screws. Stripped while fighting with them to remove. Waiting for replacements to arrive. Double checked everything to make sure it cycles correctly and the ejector is not acting up. Loctite applied wherever needed.

I also seem to have an issue with the Odin Works mag release. My LAR (plastic and steel) and steel mags (5/30) work fine. The Hera mags seem to want to just drop out after the round is ejected and a new one is chambered. Not sure what the issue is. Will install the original mag release for now. Also removed the bipod. Ordered a UTG Recon bipod, should be here tomorrow.

Range trip coming up later this week. Hoping nothing will break.

With the newer kodiak guns. Is the charging handle still brittle?
The charging handle gouge the receiver?
and lastly is there still slop between upper n lower? While i know this isnt a detriment to the gun. It is still annoying all the same.

My rifle is now just over a year old so I can't comment on the charging handles.

But you will get some rubbing on the receiver, with no functional impact.

There was never to my knowledge a great deal of movement between the upper and lower. With mine it's a small amount but nothing you ever notice while shooting the gun.

Quick update - range trip today
- ~ 200 rounds with the new bolt
- No FTF or FTE or jamming
- Bolt still in good shape - no issues with ejection or chambering
- First time in a long time, been able to get some decent groupings (1 - 1.5 MOA @ 50, <2 MOA @ 100), 30km winds at Silverdale, cloudy and raining
- Vortex cantilever mount sucked - came loose while shooting within the first two mags, had to put some threadlocker and tighten everything, then zero again

Kodiak has had my rifle for repair since the end of September, I've e mailed them twice asking for an update with no response
I thought the customer service was supposed to be good from them?
I did get a gas piston from them once before and things went smoothly, did something change recently with their CS?
just not sure what to do at this point, I ended up getting a different one of the EE but maybe supporting this company is a mistake

Have you tried speaking to them with a telephone?
