I'm about 5'9"
Recently bought a 25" high stool off kijiji for $20.00. Top of bench is 36" from floor.
Shell holder on this press is 48" from floor. Picture is with me sitting on stool. Good height for standing or resting my butt on stool.
Inline Fabrication Quick Change 9 3/4" high mount on 3/8" thick aluminum bars to make up difference on wood width.
Scale on shelf at eye level, standing.
Curious as to what that cylinder is you built your bench around?

Mine is waist height... a good height to use standing or sitting on a stool (I wanted, and am glad to have both options)
Mine is 32" high, and I sit while reloading. My bench
mounts 3 presses and has room for a 304 Scale and 2
loading blocks. My Electronic scale and dispenser are
on a separate bench within reach.
I have a nice oak office chair to sit on. Works for me.

I'm 5'9" and I stand at my 38" bench. If you tuck your elbows at your side with forearms parallel to the ground, 3-4" below your forearms seems to be ideal.

Finally got my reloading bench together. Thanks for all the suggestions. I haven't even loaded one round yet. I assume it's not a good idea to jump in and load a bunch of ammo without being able to trial the rounds first, to see how they cycle in my pistols, and with my range being closed due to Covid it makes that impossible, so for now I'm just getting things set up and prepared. Also made a simple tumbler for now to clean brass. The Lee press is mounted with a 1/4" steel plate on top of the bench and 1/8" plate on the bottom and this completely eliminates any movement or flex whatsoever.

I have 2 benches. One to sit at, the other to stand. I find I use them both equally.

Standing is more practical for this bench, however if I sit on a bar stool style chair ( I grabbed one from upstairs dining room to try ) it's just right for sitting. Just have to find a suitable one with a high back and maybe swiveling.
I’m new to reloading and didn’t have a lot of space to dedicate to it so I made a bench that i can fold on an hinge and that all tools can be removed easily!
