Mossberg’s greatest sin.
This rifle here would make a fine stalking rifle / bush gun and mountain rifle all in one.

Hey Gatehouse, what is the make of the buttstock on your 6.5 Grendel?
I have one here in 30-06 keep forgetting its in the safe.
It belongs to my older son his mom's dad gave it to him it has hardly seen any use.
Yes KJ. Not my cup of tea, but I do appreciate the info. It is the forstock that is proving to be the big issue. They seem to be unobtanium right now. I have a nice wood set I would trade even for a synthetic one right now.
Mossberg’s greatest sin.
.... they’ve definitely had a few.
Details on this?
Marlin SBL Lever Action 45-70?
I have one of the same, passed down when my Dad passed away. Sent a photo to SuperCub as I haven't yet made arrangements to post photos since the photobucket 'change'. Dad's has exceptional wood.
Here is Johnn's Husky with matching hand grinder. Cool matching set.

It's actually from a JM 1895 that I had sitting around. I did the Devcon and tongue depressor texture thing to it and rattle canned it black. I didn't like the finish on the factory offering plus the ones that come with them are laminated and painted and there was a crack starting near the tang between some of the layers. This one will need a recoil pad upgrade in the near future as the Lev 2 loads are not forgiving on the shoulder lol.Can you tell me about the butt stock on the Marlin?
