EE reality check real quick

I have no need to buy anything unless price is right. Let the sellers cook on their price. Usually price drop as time goes by.

When I got into firearms here, I was surprised how much used firearms maintain their value. A used 10 year old 10/22 still fetches 70% of the new cost. Other hobbies Ive had like bicycles or cars would be worth less than 50%.

A rationalized it by figuring folks didnt want a sales record from a store so bought only privately and that drove up the prices. Just my speculation. I could be wrong.

1. Why whine about it... just don't buy.
2. Used prices keep pace with new prices... have you noticed the spike in New firearm prices?
3. The free trade, supply and demand market will set the final price regardless of what the asking price is.

If someone's asking price is too high just move on; It really is that easy.

There is no law stating that someone has to cater to your unrealistic sense of entitlement.

Sense of reality, not entitlement.

People put it up for how much they'll let it go for. I doubt most have the intention of actually selling it.

A lighter reason could be their wife said to sell their guns, so if they put them up for crazy prices, they get to keep them!
If any of you men on here put a gun up for sale or did anything your wife TOLD you to do... go cut off what little grapes you got left. Or, tell her where to take her demands and remind her she doesn't own your life.

I will offer a gun at a very fair price "if I can" I advertise to SELL not to keep.
I give my guns 3 days to sell....if not,.. they get traded off. I love a fast selling pace.
I love buying and selling....to much maybe LOL
You dont make a whole lot, but it makes the cold winter days go by a little faster

I love threads like this... they give insight in how exactly to expand the ignore list.

Alright, $1800 for my prized high mileage 7600 in 30-06.
Bluing rubbed off on both sides of reciever from likely 100+miles of carry over the years. Big, thick but pad, beat up wood. About 98% condition. Serious inquiries only

I Once had a forum member demand that I remove a particular item from the Exchange after turning down his offers. Apparently this PONTI felt he had authority to make demands.

Nobody is being forced to buy anything. Walk away and look elsewhere if you do not like the price.

I have never listed anything due to a need for quick cash. I only ever list something I simply do not use. Most of my posts include a statement such as, "If someone else is selling it cheaper, go talk to that guy."

Why shouldn't someone list a gun for what it is worth to them...

Or why should someone list a gun for what it is worth to you?

I wish you had an ad in the EE right now so I could ##### about it not being priced to what I think it is worth.

Most times when I sell a gun or other items, I take a loss. Purchasing and selling will not make or break me. I also have viewed many firearms that were over priced on EE, however most were fair priced and usually the seller was flexible. I just wish that sellers would always include photographs.

People sell their stuff for different reasons. Some folks just want to quickly flip something fast and move on and to do that you need a reasonable price. The folks with unrealistic high prices are I think posturing and as others have mentioned might not really want to sell but would if they got their high $$$ price. Most sellers are somewhere between these two extremes but to each their own. Its a free market after all.

You have to keep in mind that the good deals/bargains go by quick, leaving only the overpriced ads. You have to be quick on the trigger.
