so i decided to splurge and buy myself a nice colt 1911 for xmas, i received notice that the blue titanium colt in 45 acp was back in stock, i started looking for one of these back in march and pretty much sold out everywhere. This one came up and i pulled the trigger seeing as it's kind of rare and unique, i don't do much shooting i mostly collect just for fun. i Bought myself a Dan Wesson Silverback for my 30th,and a kimber custom two tone no marks on these guns from use.
I ordered it Dec 24th, it was applied for Jan 5 and shipped Jan 7, i was away for 3 and a half weeks, just got home the other day with much excitement and anticipation.

I opened the package and can see a scratch on the frame, I'm contacting the seller business, but they are telling me they reviewed videos and shipping procedures, and inspected it no shipping damage.
I feel like they are going to say i'm responsible and they won't help me out
has anyone on here had one of these guns or a finish issue? i'm wondering if colt customer service will help out at all
it looks like it was impacted and scratched under the trigger guard, I' wondering what kind of coating this is, they don't say on the website, I'm wondering how durable it is or if it's just going to scratch or peel just from regular use? or get all marked up?
i have other 1911's and they are used and don't show marks like this.
should i try and get an exchange? a refund? or look for something else or just bite the bullet it'll get marked up from use?

Unfortunately Colt firearms do not always have the nicest finish. It could have been that way from the factory or the dealer it’s hard to tell but I have bought rifles from them that look like hell but they work.

ya i'm not sure if this was the case i got the email and ordered it like minutes after it said it was in stock. i guess it's still possible though, they are still in stock now so they must have more

Well that is one sweet high end Colt for certain.
Myself I would be disappointed and them some....
I can't see how that damage would occur during shipping...
Since it is new and unfired - a simple return for refund should be in order.....imho

ya this is a fear of mine, i do more looking than shooting hahah, kind of wishing i would have went with the smith and wesson bobtail two tone, but i wanted something with the colt name

I believe north sylva is still the distributor of the new colt guns, you can contact them and ask them to go thru the warrant process. I haven't had any issues with new colt products, maybe that's because I always pick the gun by hand instead of buying them online, they are not cheap tho.

Hmmmmmm...... looks fishy. Pretty sure Colt, CZ, S&W & the rest of the big boys don’t use or install zip ties on their new guns from the factory. Even more suspect is that the zip tie is over the factory plastic bag. So whomever put the zip tie on had to puncture the bag to install it. Those two holes could negate the moisture barrier the bag provides. The Factory would never do this.

Most gun stores have display models to entice buyers. Even curious dealers open new pistol cases to handle new stuff. Seems your new pistol was fine from the factory but the seller messed with it somewhere along the line. And tried to conceal it. That’s very bad. Seller should have been up front with the scratch. You gotta call him on this. Good news is that it’s not critical & doesn’t affect the operation of the gun.

Request a discount from the seller. Say, C$100.00 off, or C$100.00 of mech of your choice.

Good to know, i might have to look into them this is turning really stressful. I'm trying to give the seller the benefit of the doubt but from what they've said to me already it feels like they aren't willing to work with me and I'm going to get hung out to dry. I'm hoping i can maybe get a response today. I need to deal with this soon before i leave for work#♂️#♂️#♂️

Ya i was a little shocked at that too. I wasn't sure about that
I know it isn't critical but when you buy something that it's supposed to be new and it's something to show off while spending a lot of money it's extremely disappointing.
I don't want any merch or discount i just want a nice looking gun for what i paid

I wouldn't expect great things from NS, based on my experience... You may have better luck...

Are they saying that they’ve already done the csi treatment and have proved for sure that they didn’t do this, what does this even mean ? I’d send that right back, and as noted above the factory didn’t put that zip tie on there...

Who is the business that is selling this ?

Don't work with them, work with your CC company.

That's the problem with a lot of dealers, way too many Armands from Badger Arms are still in business.

The "st/dealer" is right, no damage was done during shipping, the gun was screwed up in his shop, most likely when they cut the hole in the plastic bag to install the zip tie.

You MUST reveal such a shady business, then send them a link to this thread.

not much else to say that hasnt been said but ya..... that little blemish would bother me forever
Blems of most products always sell at a discount if that is indeed a factory blemish.... I blew the picture up and it looks like a scratch

Send it back and ask for a refund (not a store credit) as you didn't order a "blemished" firearm

I'd be a little more than pissed.
