I have a synthetic stock coming to replace the crappy hardwood stock on a used 20 gauge Express. Is there any way to remove the fore end nut short of buying the special tool for it, which I will probably never use again?
A file, a hacksaw and a 4 inch piece of pipe with a 1" inside diameter,
add about 15 minutes of shop time and you are good to go.....
This is exactly what I did except I found a piece of conduit at work with 1" i.d./1 1/4" o.d.
I cut it off, filed the end to leave two tabs sticking out and drilled a hole through the other end to put a screwdriver through for torque. Worked so amazingly well that I kept it!
