1892

:)Closest I have is an old 1894 Marlin in 44-40. Picked it up from a relative a while back who mentioned he had knocked down a 'few' Moose with it many years ago.;) E-mailed you a couple of quick photos as we speak.

Those photos put a smile on me face.
And the monuments that go with them..................

I have owned the Browning, A couple Rossi rifles, A Chiappa and a Marlin in .44 magnum. the flaw in the Browning was the bore. Twist, rifling, etc. Same with the Marlin. The Marlin is also heavy and clubby feeling. Good for scope mounting if that matters to you. I kept a stainless Rossi 16" as a truck gun and wilderness camp bear repellent, built kinda rough but no complaints. I have the Chiappa 20" Case coloured as my " keeper" I like everything about it, especially after adding a Lyman receiver sight. One other comment. For actual hunting, the 20" barrel is far superior to anything shorter. People like how the really short barrels "carry" but they are harder to hit with in the field.

That Chiappa case coloured would be the one I’d really like also. Is that Lyman receiver sight the one that you install via drill and tap the side of the receiver?
If so do you know the model number of the sight? Lyman doesn’t have one listed for a 92.

Yes, the Lyman 66 will work on a M92. The old discontinued steel models are the best. You need 2 new holes in the side of the receiver drilled & tapped. I also have a Williams fool proof that is OK too, it is for sale. I took off the Williams because I wanted to use plinker loads and then full power hunting loads without using a screwdriver to adjust the sight. With the quick adjust plunger the Lyman allows this, the Williams does not but serves well as a "set it and forget it" sight.
