Anyone have a Stalking rifle to flaunt?

Can’t comment on the stiga, but the battue is light and points well. The fibre optic sights are very quick to get on target.
I’m not a fan of the plastic mags so I swapped for a ctr stock and am pleased with the 10 round mags. Tried the aics bottom metal and hated it. Rough feed and the single stack mag poked me in all my round and soft places when slung.
The bolt is very smooth and it’s sub moa(never had a bad shooting tikka).

Don’t all have a heart attack at once.... I use what works for me. Lol... and flame away.

I actually didn't like the SKS for bush work... I found the gas tube and any glass put too much weight up high and out front.Didn't point right... most scoped bolts are better... but I still find that weight above the Axis runs the point ability.
I find myself doing an appreciable amount of brushwork... if I can't reach up and do things with my left hand whilst my strong hand holds the grip on it... it's not for me.
I actually think a break open rifle like a Savage 219 ( that is one that works well in my stable) carries amazingly well. Got the thick steel around the chamber... it has to be 12 gauge diameter because that's the primary sizing.
Puts more of the weight down low and further back.
Carrying it grasped at the balance point ... seems like that only resulted in a brief glance of tail wagging through the bush.
If it don't point right... I won't stalk with it. Sold some rare valuable guns because they carried like a fence post... M39 comes to mind.
And I like SKS's... they just don't point worth a darn.

To each their own... its all a matter of adjustment. I have adjusted to the SKS, including its trigger pull, and I can effectively use it for many bush tasks. In the end, however, there are still better stalking rifles, including my break action Brno Effect, which points like its a natural extension of my arm.

That's a good term... extension of my arm... got a few cool guns yet...but they ain't all for stalking.
Who doesn't love a Ruger No. 1? Depends on the type... I've a 220 in a No. 1...carries like crap.
It ain't all about plastic vs wood. Or blued 98's are better than Black rifles. Or visa versa.
Some guns have pointabilty... and some don't. What works for one application might suck for another.
If it don't point good... I leave it at home if playing in the brush.
But, keep 'em coming. I might poke fun occasionally... but I try to do it as a retort. Because someone is proud of their gun.
And that's cool... why we are here usually

I get a fair amount of critique on the sks... but people thus far have been surprised with that build. And I agree, it’s not my first pick, unless I’m out back. We have a pig problem and if you’ve ever been charged... I’ll take the semi action.
As for the trigger.... you’d be amazed at what you can do with a russian assembly and a bit of work, they can be made acceptable.

But all in all, no, I don’t actually think it qualifies as a stalking rifle at all. Lol.

Any gun can be used for deer hunting some good some bad but normally when asking about a deer stalking rifle one is probably referring to the traditional definition of one which normally means a well crafted and balanced wood and blued steeled rifle designed with the hunter in mind for portability ,function and beauty. These are the types of guns in the truest sense that feel like an extension of oneself .A lot of the modern made rifles might do the job but when it comes to meeting all three criteria of a stalking rifle are normally missing one of them.

My latest MohawkIMG_20210306_005749 (1).jpg creation. 6.5 Creedmoor re-barrel 18.5" M700 R5, with Bushnell AR FFP 1-4 X 24 illuminated. Very fast handling for an older guy! A real shooter as well.

The Express with the .358 Carbine. I was playing around at the range and discovered that the Leupold B&C reticle when zeroed at 100 yards with the .358" 225 Partition, has the sub-stadia bang on at 200 and 300 yards... and the .30-06 with 180 Accubond zeroed at 200 yards is bang on at 300 and 400 yards... makes these rifles pretty dang versatile.
