Just received my VX-3HD 2.5-8x36 scope and did a little unboxing video, once I get some range time I will post a review with a box test. This should make an awesome scope for a lightweight rifle.

GTFOOH!!!
I always pronounced it Leeeeooooopold.
This site is awesome, learn something new every God dam day..

The only thing I don't like about that scope is the ZL 1....only 14.5 moa and that's it.

whats the point of having 70 or 75 MOA adjustment when you are limited to a measly 14.5 :(

I mean I'd understand on the 4.5-14 model but this one tops out at 8x. With a standard 30-06 load it'll turn out to over 500yds right.

Conversely; what’s the point of having 14MOA of elevation when you only have an 8x optic? For its task and purpose, I’d say that’s plenty. Not many folks poking out to 700+yds with an 8x optic in my experience. Maybe I just hang out at the wrong places though.

The generous amount of total elevation/windage built into modern scopes allows for easier zeroing on mass produced rifles. Internal adjustment range of these scopes can compensate for any irregularities in the base/ring/receiver/barrel. Once zeroed, most hunters will not need more than 14MOA of adjustment to engage game. If more adjustment is required, there are other models from Leupold that allow for greater elevation travel.

I agree with this.

Finally headed to the range today to test this scope out
